(KGTV) — MiraCosta College fell victim this week to vandalism from a white supremacy group.In a letter to students, university President Sunita Cooke said the incident occurred Wednesday involving vandalism by a white supremacy group.The letter didn't elaborate on what was exactly done on campus, only that the vandalism violated the college's "values of inclusion and serve to incite fear within our campus community."RELATED: CSU San Marcos police take down white nationalist posters"The district strongly opposes racist acts. OCEANSIDE, Calif (KGTV) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed by a semi-truck on Interstate 5 near Mission Avenue early Thursday morning.According to California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was standing in the middle of the southbound lanes around 2:30 a.m. when they were hit. Deputies say the victim was killed instantly.The semi-truck driver did stay at the scene.Deputies are investigating why the victim was in the middle of the freeway. 452

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Carole Baskin of “Tiger King” fame is being sued for defamation by a former assistant. As part of the lawsuit, the daughters of Baskin’s former husband are seeking more information about what happened to their father, who disappeared mysteriously more than two decades ago. The amended complaint to an earlier lawsuit was filed Tuesday in state court in Tampa by Don Lewis’ three daughters as well as his former assistant, Anne McQueen. The lawsuit says Baskin defamed McQueen by posting a video diary entry on YouTube earlier this month in which she says McQueen played a role in Lewis’ disappearance.
