An inmate was mistakenly released from the troubled Cuyahoga County Jail last week, in spite of the inmate telling jailers that he wasn’t supposed to be released.Not only did that inmate tell at least one jailer he was supposed to stay locked up, Administrative Judge John Russo said he also called a judge's bailiff and let him know about the mistake too.The confusion that led the jail to mistakenly release Fransisco Cruz appears to once again stem from an inmate with multiple cases in the system at the same time.Court records show Cruz was sentenced to 18 months in prison in October 2017 on domestic violence, drug, escape and theft charges.Nine months later, in July 2018, Cruz was released from prison and put into a transitional control program, a type of supervised release.While out, Cruz was arrested again on drug charges in May of this year and put back behind bars to finish his sentence. That prison sentence ended on October 2.The same day, Cruz was sentenced on the May drug charge.Judge Peter Corrigan ordered Cruz spend time in a substance abuse facility and ordered the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department to take him there.What happened next is still something jail administrators are trying to figure out.A spokeswoman said the state notified the jail that Cruz's sentence was over. He was released Friday and told to report to his parole officer.That’s when Cruz told a jailer they were supposed to take him to inpatient treatment, Russo told News 5 investigators. But that didn't happen.Cruz then called Corrigan's courtroom to tell the judge what happened, Russo said. A bailiff called the treatment center, but they said they could only take Cruz if the sheriff's department brought him.The county said the 36-year-old was taken back into custody yesterday when he showed up to meet his parole officer.This is at least the fourth mistaken release from the jail since spring. Attorneys general in 20 states and the District of Columbia filed a lawsuit Thursday challenging a federal regulation that could allow blueprints for making guns on 3D printers to be posted on the internet. New York Attorney General Tish James, who helped lead the coalition of state attorneys general, argued that posting the blueprints would allow anyone to go online and use the downloadable files to create unregistered and untraceable assault-style weapons that could be difficult to detect. The lawsuit, joined by California, Washington and 17 other states, was filed in U.S. District Court in Seattle. It is likely to reignite a fierce debate over the use of 3D-printed firearms and is the latest in a series of attempts by state law enforcement officials to block the Trump administration from easing the accessibility of the blueprints. Proponents have argued there is a constitutional right to publish the material, but critics counter that making the blueprints readily accessible online could lead to an increase in gun violence and put weapons in the hands of criminals who are legally prohibited from owning them. Authorities are trying to figure out how bricks of cocaine worth more than million wound up in banana shipments delivered to three grocery stores in Washington state.The drugs were found Sunday at Safeway stores in Woodinville, Bellingham and Federal Way.Produce workers at the Woodinville store were putting the bananas out on the sales floor when they saw something strange, said Sgt. Ryan Abbott with the King County Sheriff's Office."One of the boxes had brown paper in it, which caught their attention and then they looked further and found these bricks," Abbott said. "They called the police and we went out there and it ended up being 22 kilos of cocaine with a street value of 0,000."That's almost 50 pounds of cocaine.The cocaine was surrounded by ordinary boxes of bananas, which were stuck together for shipment, Abbott said."We're still trying to determine where it all came from.
