SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- About two dozen protesters rallied against 5G technology at Waterfront Park Wednesday. The group says increased radiation is extremely harmful and can lead to seizures and heart failure. The city of San Diego accounted their 5G partnership with Verizon in April. The deal adds 0 million of infrastructure including new equipment cells on city-owned light poles. Police say the increased smart technology can help increase safety. Protesters today disagree."There’s no safety testing for this plan at all," said Susan Brinchman with the Center for Electrosmog Prevention. "I know why they didn’t do the testing, because there’s no way to safely implement this. Scientists are beginning to associate it with the development of cancer."A New York Times article released this week says 5G is actually safe. The article cites a Temple University researcher who says," 5G emissions, if anything, should be safer than previous generations,”.Mayor Kevin Faulconer says the agreement with Verizon will not only enhance cell service but also keep communities safer and cut costs for taxpayers. The city is set to roll out the 5G network later this year. 1173

ernando Herrera Jr. and his company Fersho's HVAC and Home Renovations. "He said it would take within a month to do everything,” Petrou said.Petrou said after he signed the contract the crew got down to business ripping out siding, windows and doors.About three weeks into the job, Petrou said he started to notice major flaws in the fixes. For example, Petrou claims Herrera purchased the wrong type of windows for the house and none were installed correctly."The height of the window sills are different,” he explained.Petrou said when he confronted Herrera his crew cleaned up some of the mess they’d made and took off. The job was nowhere close to being competed. That was after he says he paid Herrera more than ,000. Petrou sent Team 10 an email correspondence he had with Herrera where he demanded his money back. The email chain shows Herrera responded saying in part, “You know what, you can have the local news do your story, I won’t file any lawsuits. It won’t affect me at all. I have decided not to go back to San Diego and make a living with my family somewhere else. Life in the US, especially in California is too expensive nowadays that we decided to try our luck overseas. I tried many times to work things out. Your house would have been done by now. But you just wouldn’t want to work with me. So this John, this whole thing IS ON YOU!! [sic]”Team 10 investigator Adam Racusin called Herrera multiple times but hasn’t received any response. Team 10 did track down the address on Petrou’s work contract to Herrera’s uncle’s house in south San Diego. His uncle said there is no business operating out of that house and he did not give his nephew permission to use his address. He did provide a phone number for Herrera's dad. Team 10 called that number, but no one called us back. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A tiger at an East County animal sanctuary has been killed by another tiger after staff accidentally allowed them to come in contact. ABC10 News confirmed that the surviving tiger is the same one that was rescued from a highly publicized smuggling bust at the border.Bobbi Brink is the founder of Alpine nonprofit Lions Tigers & Bears. She spoke to ABC10 News on Tuesday about Monday's incident where 7-year-old Maverick was attacked by another tiger named Moka in a tragedy of human error. No staff members or visitors were hurt. "It's a terrible accident and it occurred during the daily share that the tigers do every day when they put the tigers separately. Well, they accidentally put them in contact," she told ABC10 News.Moka sustained only a few scratches. He's the same tiger that was first reported on in 2017 when he was rescued from a smuggler at the U.S.-Mexico border. "They found him on the floorboard of somebody's car and he went to the zoo and the zoo couldn't keep him so he came to Lions Tigers & Bears," added Brink.Maverick was rescued in 2014 by California Fish and Wildlife staff after he was born in captivity and purchased illegally by a buyer who wasn't licensed to own an exotic animal. The nonprofit stated that it regularly holds safety trainings including one just last weekend. It plans to extensively review its protocols this week. "The process of caring for these animals doesn't leave any space for error," added Brink. On Tuesday evening, a spokesperson for the nonprofit called to say that the facility remains open. ABC10 News had previously reported that it would remain closed until at least Saturday, after Brink stated that in an interview with ABC10 News earlier on Tuesday. 1752
