SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — More than half of the San Diego-based breweries that participated in a fundraiser to help Camp Fire victims say they've completed their donation on time, according to research by the 10News team.In December, Sierra Nevada brewing asked breweries across the nation to brew "Resilience IPA" as a way to make money for the Butte Strong Fund.Sierra Nevada offered to provide the recipe and work with suppliers to get the ingredients donated. All the local brewers had to do was brew and sell the beer, and donate 100% of the proceeds to the fund.According to Sierra Nevada's Resilience IPA website, more than 1,400 breweries across the country signed up. That includes 43 in San Diego County.Sierra Nevada asked the brewers to finish selling Resilience IPA by April 30 and complete their donation by May 14.In an email sent to brewers on May 21, Sierra Nevada said that nearly half of the breweries still hadn't completed their donation.10News reached out to all 43 breweries in San Diego that took part in the effort to see if they're living up to their end of the fundraiser. We also asked how much money they were able to donate.Of the 43 San Diego breweries we called or emailed, 29 told us they had finished their donation and sent in a check. Those breweries sent more than 7,000 combined. Three breweries told us they haven't been able to finalize their donation. Eleven breweries have yet to respond to our questions. For Societe Brewery CEO Doug Constantiner, helping Camp Fire victims was personal."One of my really good friends lost his house in the fire," Constantiner says. "When we saw the email come through, there was no question about it. We knew we were on board and signed up right away."Societe brewed 20 barrels and raised ,000."I think people really got the message what the Resilience IPA was brewed for and were willing to put their dollars behind it, knowing it was going to a good cause," says Constantiner.San Diego-based AleSmith Brewing made a smaller, two-keg batch, but still raised ,400. "I can honestly never think of another time that another brewery's tap handle was on here at AleSmith," says Quality Supervisor Peter Cronin. He hopes that the breweries that haven't been able to finalize their donation will send the money soon."I'm hoping they didn't just use a big brewery's name, a quality brewery's name to market it a little bit," says Cronin. " And I hope they would donate the money from that beer. It's another brewry's recipe, it wasn't their own."Here is the list of all the San Diego breweries that participated in the Resilience IPA campaign and what they told 10News about their contributions:AleSmith Brewing Company: Brewed 2 kegs to sell in tasting room and raised ,400. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Providing hungry children with food during the school year is a problem many institutions seek out solutions to, but may struggle with during the summer months outside of school.Sweetwater Union High School District is offering free meals to children at two locations from June 10 - 28 as part of their "Seamless Summer" feeding program. Children must be 18-years-old and younger to qualify for the free meal.No registration is needed and the meals are absolutely free, according to the school district.Children can receive the free meals at Montgomery High School (3250 Palm Ave., San Diego) or Sweetwater Union High School (2900 Highlands Ave., National City) Monday through Friday from 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. 740

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - New documents in a search warrant reveal evidence in the investigation of the Poway synagogue shooting during which one person was killed and three were injured. Evidence cited in the documents confirms rumors that have been spread over the last two months surrounding a possible live stream and an alternative chat room site where many alleged John T. Earnest adopted his hateful ideology. The document states, "San Diego Police Department ("SDPD") Officers responded to that location and took John Earnest into custody without further incident. Seen on the front passenger seat was an AR-I5 rifle but no handgun was visible. Additionally, in the vehicle was a helmet with a Go-Pro camera on it."The document later describes the suspect's disposition after officers made contact. "At that time, Earnest did not appear to be under the influence of a controlled substance but did appear to have a 'flat affect' as though he was detached or unaffected by his actions," the document says. The document brings up the manifesto that was the subject of a previous 10News report. "An SDSD system data miner, found a manifesto on Pastebin.com written by a person identifying himself as John Earnest," the document says. "In the manifesto, which he named 'An Open Letter.'"On page six of the document, there is a reference to how Earnest adopted his ideology. "During that interview, he informed an SDSO Detective that he had adopted his ideology of hate for members of the Jewish religion approximately 18 month earlier. Based on my training and experience, I know that there is a process in which someone undergoes adoption of radical ideologies. This process can take several months or several years before a person actually commits to those ideologies. During the interview, Earnest also stated that he was inspired by individuals such as Adolph Hitler and Brenton Tarrant."The document also looks at a Facebook post, from a page investigators linked to Earnest. "Earnest made a posting in which he thought to draw attention to his forthcoming attack on the Chabad of Poway, share his views through his open letter, and offer people the opportunity to observe the attack itself," the document says. The document also contains statements referring to the alternative message board site 8chan, where many believe Earnest adopted a hateful ideology. "Earnest stated in the subject posting, "I've only been lurking for a year and a half, yet, what I've learned here is priceless." This information suggests that Earnest was inspired and/or educated by individuals who commented on his threads."The document explains how hard it is to track users on the site and how easy it is to modify or erase information on the site. For those reasons investigators wanted to keep the search warrant sealed. In attached files, the document shows comments from 8chan users asking "anyone had a decent read of the manifesto yet?" As well as "Anybody not already at least on a vpn [virtual private network] is playing with fire here, don't get yourselves caught before actually making an effort."Earnest will be in court for the preliminary hearing for his state case on August 19. 3182
