Seven US service members were killed Thursday in a helicopter crash in western Iraq, the US military said.Army Brig. Gen. Jonathan P. SPRING VALLEY, Callif. (KGTV) — New video shows a man using a massive brick to break into a Spring Valley dessert shop and steal the cash register. A little after midnight on Feb. 28, the video shows a man breaking into Snoice dessert shop in Spring Valley, walking to the bakery in the back and stealing the register, which had 0 inside. Jayrell Ringpis, the store owner, said he felt violated when he saw the video. "It's just disheartening because we're not alone," he said.The thief hit at least two other businesses in the same strip mall as Snoice, which is on Paradise Valley Road. On Friday, a door was missing from a Mexican restaurant halfway down, and a donut shop had a glass door boarded up. The worker at the donut shop says this is not the first time someone has broken in through the glass.Sheriff's Deputies responded to a call around 4 a.m. Thursday but did not find the suspect. The brick left behind did have some blood on it, but the Sheriff's department didn't immediately respond to further questions. Starbucks is closing an additional 100 stores in the US within the next year because of shifting consumer habits due to COVID-19.With fewer people working in urban centers, the coffee giant is responding by setting up more stores in the suburbs.There's also less customer traffic during the week now but that is offset by more coffee being sold on weekends.Starbucks has become more focused on drive-thru's and carryout, with fewer customers lingering inside because of social distancing.The store closings are in addition to 400 previously announced for the US, and another 200 for Canada.Still, with Starbucks planning 850 new stores at the same time, there will actually be a net gain of 50 new stores next year.No word has been released on where the new stories will be built and which stores are closing. 817

Social media company TikTok says they plan on hiring around 10,000 people in the U.S. over the next three years, according to multiple outlets. The announcement comes after lawmakers and Trump administration officials have questioned the company’s data collection methods and threatened to ban TikTok.TikTok currently employs about 1,400 people in the U.S., a huge increase already over the 500 employees they had on January 1, 2020, according to Axios."These are good-paying jobs that will help us continue to build a fun and safe experience and protect our community's privacy," a TikTok spokesperson said in a statement provided to CNN. The jobs will range from customer service, to content moderation to engineering.TikTok is owned by ByteDance, which is based in Beijing. TikTok doesn’t operate in China, however ByteDance operates a similar app in China called Douyin.Several lawmakers, including Chuck Schumer, Tom Cotton and Josh Hawley have publicly said they worry TikTok user data could find its way to the Chinese government.
