United Airlines has rolled out a feature that will help travelers find less expensive ticket options. With the help of Google's flight search enterprise technology, the airliner introduced its interactive map feature. The map will allow travelers to search for inexpensive tickets anywhere in the US by asking you how much you want to spend, where you are flying from, and if you are open to dates."We've reinvented the way people search for flights and introduced something new for our customers that is simpler, provides better results, and is easy to use," said Linda Jojo, Executive Vice President for Technology and Chief Digital Officer in a press release. "Leveraging the power of Google's Flight Search technology, we are able to provide an all-in-one solution that streamlines the search process and allows our customers to more easily find the flights that work best for them."If you are a member of its Mileage Plus program, you'll be able to use the "Where I've Been" feature, which will show you what trips you've already taken on United. 1057

UPDATE: Tuesday's meeting was canceled due to an illness.SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - On Tuesday night, the City of San Diego's Parks and Recreation Department will present two options for redeveloping the De Anza area to the Mission Bay Park Committee. The meeting is open to the public and begins at 6 p.m. at Mission Bay High School. The two plans were released to the public over the summer. Both feature improvements to sports fields, the Mission Bay Golf Course, green space, walking paths, playgrounds and beaches. Both also have new wildlife habitat areas included, although they vary on how many acres (27 or 38). A more detailed look at the plans can be found here. But wildlife preservations groups like the San Diego Audubon Society and ReWild Mission Bay say they don't go far enough to preserve the habitat or protect wildlife. They're calling for up to 200 acres of land set aside. They say it can also provide a buffer against sea level rises from global warming. They've put forth three other alternative plans that have limited amenities for people, but focus on open habitat space."I don't think being able to use an area for cycling, walking or jogging and conservation of the bay are mutually exclusive," says Linda Conser, who walks along the bay every week. "I think they can exist together.""A lot of my friends use this area," says Chris Garry, who launches his fishing boat from the dock at De Anza Cove. "I'm interested to see what it's going to be like." 1490
United Airlines announced Wednesday plans to return 25,000 flights systemwide during the month of August in hopes that more people will resume traveling. Despite the massive number of flights being added to the schedule, United said that it will only run 40% of the number of flights it ran in 2019 in August.Domestically, United plans on adding 600 flights, meaning it will run 48% of its US flights in August. United projects that only 30% of US flights will fly in July compared to 2019."We're taking the same data-driven, realistic approach to growing our schedule as we did in drawing it down at the start of the pandemic," said Ankit Gupta, United's vice president of Domestic Network Planning. "Demand is coming back slowly and we're building in enough capacity to stay ahead of the number of people traveling. And we're adding in flights to places we know customers want to travel to, like outdoor recreation destinations where social distancing is easier but doing so in a way that's flexible and allows us to adjust should that demand change."On Tuesday, Delta announced the addition of 1,000 flights systemwide in July. Delta said it reduced the number of flights in the US by 65% in July. 1208
