STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. -- A Michigan police officer is being called a hero after the harrowing rescue of a 3-week-old girl was caught on the officer's dashcam.Just before 11 p.m. Thursday, officers were called to a home in Sterling Heights on a report of an infant not breathing.Officer Cameron Maciejewski was the first to arrive and jumped into action. The officer was met by the family outside the home and took the baby, who was not breathing, into his arms.Officer Maciejewski is seen on video calmly taking the baby in his arms and performs back thrusts in an attempt to clear her airways. After a few seconds, the baby coughs up the obstruction and begins the cry.The baby was then turned over to the Sterling Heights Fire Department and transported to the hospital for evaluation.“If it wasn’t for Ofc. Maciejewski’s quick, calm, lifesaving actions, the outcome of this incident could have been tragically different. Texas Southern University in Houston evacuated its campus on Wednesday due to a bomb threat received by the Houston Police Department directed at the university. The university announced on its social media channels that all classes are canceled for the rest of the day, and that all students, faculty and employees should evacuate campus. Houston Police said it received the threat via its emergency call center around 1:40 p.m. CT on Wednesday. As of late Wednesday afternoon, there have not been any confirmed bombs found on campus. Texas Southern is a public historically black university with an enrollment of nearly 10,000. 667

(KGTV) -- Authorities announced that a missing Los Angeles mother and her three children were safely located at the San Ysidro Port of Entry in south San Diego County.The young family disappeared from their home in Sylmar on Oct. 9, according to authorities.Liliana Lopez's three children, who were also missing since Oct. 9, were found when they entered the U.S. from Mexico at the border crossing.Los Angeles police detectives were interviewing Lopez to determine the circumstances of her and her children's disappearance.A man who was identified as a possible suspect in their kidnapping, Esteban Lopez, is believed to be still in Mexico, according to authorities.Police were called to the 13600 block of Fellows Avenue at 9:27 p.m. on Oct. 9 and found that a possible kidnapping had occurred.
