"Remember, as I said earlier, we're likely dealing here with potential other prosecutions, classified information, damaging people's reputation. I think it's a reasonable thing to do."Schumer criticized McConnell's objections, saying Republicans support the language in his resolution."This language was good enough for every Republican in the Senate as well as every Democrat," Schumer said following McConnell remarks. TAMPA, Fla. — Fresh Express Sunflower Crisp Chopped Salad Kits have been linked to a multi-state outbreak of E. coli, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).The CDC says at least eight people from Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota have been infected with the outbreak strain of E. coli O157:H7. While it is the same strain of E. coli carried through romaine lettuce that sickened more than 100 people in multiple states earlier this month, the CDC says it is unclear if the salad kit recall is related. The recalled salad kits do contain romaine lettuce.The affected salad has the following identifying information: UPC 0 71279 30906 4, beginning with lot code Z, and a best-before date up to and including 07DEC19. SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — What started as a regular day at an Arizona grocery store has led to a life-long friendship. “We saw him just holding this bill and just kind of wandering around," Stephanie Blackbird said. "He didn’t look well ... He looked lost and I couldn’t walk away, I couldn’t in good conscience walk away without at least checking on this man.”Blackbird, and her husband, met Alan Vandevander at a Whole Foods in Scottsdale, Arizona. They helped him get some food, started up a conversation, then parted ways. But the Blackbirds couldn't get the frail homeless man off their minds. They reconnected with him the next morning and helped him get to a hospital. Vandevander was severely malnourished. “He said, 'I’m glad they found me cause I was in trouble,' ” Blackbird said . After getting to know him, the Blackbirds did some digging and found out Vandevander has quite the story. He served in Vietnam and was awarded a Purple Heart, but he had also been missing for 40 years. His family in Indiana had no idea Vandevander was still alive.“I started looking for him in 1990 and I kept coming across dead ends," said Vandevander's sister, Julie Vandevander. She says she last spoke to her brother in the 80s. “I never ever thought I would hear from my brother again.”The two spoke on the phone just before Christmas for the first time in almost four decades. The Blackbirds have spent the last several weeks helping the man find the care he needs, taking him to hospitals and now the VA. Researchers in Germany have recently published a study finding that a small percentage of people have developed an addiction to shopping. The October 2019 study released in Comprehensive Psychiatry explores the addictive response to shopping. The study found that 1 in 20 of adults developed an addiction to shopping. The researchers dubbed the addiction as "buying-shopping disorder" (BSD), which "is characterized by extreme preoccupations with and craving for buying/shopping and by irresistible and identity-seeking urges to possess consumer goods."While the study looked at shopping more broadly, the researchers believe that the ability to shop online is feeding the addiction. "As e-commerce provides an important shopping environment, traditional BSD may migrate into the online retail market," the study states. "The internet offers a vast variety of shopping information and simultaneous access to many online stores, thereby meeting expectations for immediate reward, emotional enhancement and identity gain."To read more on the study, click 1065
