(KGTV) - Elementary school teachers in National City voted Monday to approve a strike. The teachers are frustrated with the way contract negotiations with the National School District for the 2017-2018 school year have gone.They say the biggest issues of contention are workload and teachers pay. "The District's behavior has been reprehensible from the very beginning of negotiations. The NSD's bargaining team has not tried to reach a settlement with the teachers for months,” said National City Elementary Teachers Association (NCETA) Bargaining Chair Irma Sanchez.A spokesperson for the National School District told 10News they are in mediation and cannot comment at this time.The NCETA will announce the decision at the NSD Governing Board meeting Wednesday.Although the teachers approved the strike, they say it could be months before anything happens.   926

MUKWONAGO, Wis. -- Reporter Rikki Mitchell of Scripps' Milwaukee affiliate TMJ-4 was sent on a mission to find a rare white deer after reports of sightings from three residents.Mitchell went to Mukwonago to try to see the deer for herself, and decided to stream her search on Facebook Live. After miraculously spotting the creature, she could not contain her excitement."Nature is amazing," Mitchell commented on her Facebook page.From her point of view, Mitchell says the deer had brown eyes, meaning it is not albino. While white deer are unusual, they're not as rare as albino deer that typically have pink eyes.The Wisconsin DNR says it's illegal to possess or harvest all-white deer or an albino deer.  740

MILWAUKEE -- An organization claims Catholic values are being threatened over a "Pride Prom" at Marquette University.An online petition has thousands of signatures to stop an LGBT event slated to take place Saturday at the university.University leaders say despite the opposition, the event will go on as planned.Marquette graduate Cameron Sanchez says at first, he didn't take the petition seriously."But then I went online and saw it had 18,000 signatures," he said.The petition is hosted on a website called "The American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property," also known as TFP.John Ritchie, TFP Student Action Director did not consent to an on-camera interview, but sent a statement though email. Ritchie said that promoting Pride Prom, "...is like promoting drugs for those who suffer from a drug addiction.""They're hurtful, but they're not Marquette. MINNEAPOLIS — A truck driver who drove into a large crowd of protesters on a bridge in Minneapolis following the killing of George Floyd has been charged with two criminal counts.Prosecutors charged 35-year-old Bogdan Vechirko, of Otsego, Minnesota, on Thursday with making threats of violence and criminal vehicular operation.On May 31, Vechirko drove his fuel tanker truck through a crowd of protesters who had shut down a bridge on I-35 in Minneapolis. Even though thousands of pedestrians were on the bridge, Vechirko continued to pull forward.Video from the incident shows that one protester stumbled near the truck, and that's when Vechirko says stopped out of caution. Protesters then attacked him and vandalized his truck.The Star Tribune reports that the charges allege he sought to "scare" protesters out of his path. In addition, the charges also allege a re-enactment with a similar truck showed he would have had plenty of time to stop after seeing the crowd on the highway.Vechirko claimed he was returning from a fuel delivery south of the city and didn't mean to drive through the protests. He also claims that he wouldn't have been able to immediately stop the truck ahead of the crowd without the use of a handbrake that could have caused it to jackknife and cause further injuries. 1308
