(KGTV) -- A rope is being blamed for December’s weeklong boil water advisory in Poway, according to a newly-released report.The report says a surge in storm water caused a backflow in the system. A rope stuck inside a gate designed to keep water out of the reservoir allowed the storm water to seep into the area. As a result of the incident, the affected section of the reservoir had to be disinfected and refilled. The advisory was issued after residents reported brownish water coming from their faucets on November 29. The report also goes into detail about what is being done as a result of the advisory. President Donald Trump has told advisers that Heather Nauert, the State Department spokeswoman, is his leading choice to become U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and he could offer the post as soon as this week, two sources familiar with his pick told CNN.If named, Nauert, who met with Trump Monday, would leave her role at the State Department to take over for Nikki Haley, who surprised White House officials last month when she announced her decision to step down at the end of the year.People close to the President cautioned that his pick is not final until it is formally announced. President Donald Trump had lunch with National Rifle Association leaders Wayne LaPierre and Chris Cox over the weekend, he said Monday.The President also said state governors should not be "afraid" of the NRA's lobbying power.The lunch was announced by the President during a meeting with governors at the White House Monday morning. (KGTV) -- Residents and businesses in Poway were notified Friday they have clean water after a boil water advisory was issued nearly a week ago.Testing was conducted on Poway’s water supply and samples were sent to be examined by state officials.City officials said the first test on the water, requested by the state, came back clean Thursday night.
