American Airlines plans to cancel flights well into April because of the Boeing 737 Max grounding.American, the world's largest airline, said Sunday it is canceling about 90 flights a day out through April 24. A Lion Air flight crashed in October and an Ethiopian Airlines flight crashed on March 10.The causes of the crashes have yet to be determined but the focus has been on an automatic safety feature which may have forced the nose of each plane lower when it incorrectly believed the plane was in danger of going into a stall.Boeing and the FAA said they are working on an upgrade of its software to deal with that safety feature. Boeing said at the time of the grounding that it expected that update to be available "within weeks."American has 24 of the 737 Max 8 jets. But not every flight which had been scheduled to have a 737 Max has been canceled. American said it has rearranged its schedule to use other aircraft to complete some of those flights."We have balanced [cancellations] across our system," said the airline. It said both international and domestic flights are affected. "We will vary by day as we look to impact the fewest number of customers."American operates 3,300 flights its mainline system daily on average, and another 3,400 through regional carriers and partner airlines.Other carriers are not canceling nearly that far out.Southwest Airlines, which has 34 737 Max jets, said it is only canceling five days out at this point. A stolen police cruiser crashed into several vehicles Monday evening in Dayton, Ohio, killing two and injuring 10 others.The Montgomery County, Ohio, coroner told WHIO that two children were killed in the crash.According to Dayton Police Major Eric Henderson, five of the 10 injured involved children. The incident began in nearby Riverside, Ohio, where police were responding to a stabbing. Minutes later, police were called to a vehicle that crashed into a tree, and the suspect had fled. As an officer was looking for the driver, the officer's cruiser was stolen, Henderson said. The cruiser then crashed into two occupied vehicles near a library in Dayton. The stolen cruiser also crashed into several unoccupied vehicles. The suspect was then arrested.Henderson cautioned that the information was preliminary. The Dayton library is just one block from the Oregon District, where nine people were killed in a mass shooting on Aug. 4. 949

A supervisor at the Juvenile Justice Center in Nashville was arrested and charged in connection to the escape of four teens.Patrick Jones was charged with facilitating, through recklessness in the November 30 escape.
