ST. PETERSBURG, Russia, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese and Russian media should cooperate more closely to advance the two countries' relations, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said here Thursday.
The "Belt and Road" refers to the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road initiatives proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013. The initiatives bring together countries in Asia, Europe and even Africa via overland and maritime networks.
Though progress has been made in China-U.S. relations since Xi and Barack Obama settled on building a new model of major-power relations during their first summit in June 2013, there are also some thorny issues between the two sides.
High-speed trains between Haikou and Sanya were also halted at 6 p.m. Monday, said railway authorities.
Kerry emphasized that the United States welcomes a stable, peaceful and prosperous China that plays a responsible role in global affairs.
