Xi made the remarks when meeting with Chairman of Vietnamese National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung in Beijing.
The six-party talks were launched in 2003 with the aim of solving the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue, but stalled in December 2008. The DPRK quit the talks in April 2009. The six-party talks include China, the DPRK, the Republic of Korea, the United States, Russia and Japan.
With regard to international issues, Xi said the two countries share similar stance on many international and regional issues.
Meanwhile, the two countries' bilateral economic and trade exchanges and cooperation have been continuously expanding. In 2014, two-way trade reached 50 billion U.S. dollars.
"Instead of looking for a proxy in the Middle East, we promote peace talks; instead of seeking any sphere of influence, we call on all parties to join the circle of friends for the Belt and Road Initiative; instead of attempting to fill the 'vacuum', we build a cooperative partnership network for win-win outcomes," he said.
