SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Wednesday, San Diegans who live in their cars rallied in Ocean Beach to press the city to allow living in vehicles, as residents in various neighborhoods pressure the city to ban the policy once again.Earlier this year, San Diego City Council members repealed its vehicle habitation ordinance after a federal judge found it unconstitutional which halted all enforcement.Then in March, Mayor Kevin Faulconer announced an effort to bring a ban back. The ordinance would prohibit residents from sleeping in their cars from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. within 500 feet of a school or house.Residents say reversing the ban leads to broken glass, bottles of urine, drug paraphanelia, and excrement on sidewalks in some areas. But supporters of the policy said Wednesday they don't park in front of homes or litter along roads.The city says they’ve received hundreds and hundreds of complaints about what people living in cars have done to their neighborhoods. The treaty resolved any pending differences the countries had regarding the dividing line.This physical border stretches 654 miles from California into Texas, until hitting 1,300 miles of borderless separation. The full border, however, runs from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico.Congress passed the Secure Fence Act of 2006, which called for a permanent wall to be constructed along the U.S.-Mexico border, along with technologic improvements in surveillance and security. SAN DIEGO (KGTV)- A Solana Beach man's trip to Bali takes an unexpected turn after a motorcycle accident. While he's thousands of miles away, the pandemic has made things even more complicated.28-year-old Anthony Galvan- Schaible packed his bags for Bali in February with the intent to stay until April. In March, the pandemic hit, forcing him to stay in Paradise a little longer."It was one of those things to sit it out and wait was the better idea," says Galvan- Schaible.He says one night he hopped on his motorcycle, and that's when things took an unexpected turn."The bike went to the street. I went to the left and ended up in a little ditch head first."He was rushed to the hospital after hitting his head on a concrete pillar. The impact compressed his spine. Within hours he was taken to emergency surgery. Galvan- Schaible now has multiple screws and plates along his back."It's terrifying… when they're across the planet and get hurt," says Mom, Jamie Schaible. "All you can think of is how can they get the care that they would get here."Because of travel restrictions, mom says it was stressful not knowing how she would get to her son."We reached out to the Indonesian embassy and just pleaded from a mother's heart and leaned on their compassion," says Schaible. "They bent over backwards to get me my visas."This allowed her to get to her son's bedside.Galvan-Schaible says he is starting to regain feeling in his hand. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Two U.S. Army Special Operations soldiers were killed and three others were injured during an aircraft incident, a U.S. Army official confirmed.The incident happened around 7 p.m. Thursday evening during what was described by a U.S. Army Special Operations Command public affairs officer as “routine training.”Department of Defense officials confirmed a Blackhawk helicopter crashed on or near San Clemente Island. An Army Public Affairs Officer sent ABC 10News a statement reading: “An element of U.S. Army Special Operations Command was conducting routine training in the vicinity of Coronado, California, on August 27, when an aircraft incident occurred. Two Soldiers were killed and three were injured. The area has been secured and an investigation into the incident is underway. More information will be released 24-hours following next of kin notification. Our sincere condolences go out the families and friends of the deceased. We thank you for not contacting them during this difficult time.”ABC 10News learned the soldiers were taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital following the incident.Brian MacPherson saw the helicopters land at the hospital, "I knew something was really really wrong ... SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Only recently identified through DNA testing, Marine Sgt. Millard Odom was laid to rest Tuesday at Miramar National Cemetery.Tuesday was the 75th anniversary of Odom's being killed in action during World War II in the battle for the Pacific Island of Tarawa.Sgt. Odom had been buried in Hawaii for 69 years with no name on his marker.  Now his loved ones are able to pay tribute.His niece, Pollyanna Brown, spoke at the service."Even after 75 years our family is one of the lucky ones that have the privilege and honor to bury our lost loved one," said Brown.Several other veterans, including the Patriot Guard Riders, attended the service. 687
