Kyle Rittenhouse's attorney has filed a motion to dismiss two charges late Tuesday.According to court records, they seek to dismiss Possession of a Dangerous Weapon by a Person Under 18, and First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Use of a Dangerous Weapon.Rittenhouse is facing a total of six charges, including two counts of 1st-Degree Reckless Homicide after prosecutors say he shot and killed two people and wounded a third during protests in Kenosha.Attorney Mark Richards argues in Tuesday's filing that possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under 18 should be dismissed because "the complaint [filed against Rittenhouse] fails to allege facts which could allow a reasonable person to conclude that a crime was committed."In regard to first-degree recklessly endangering safety, Richards writes that "no reasonable person could find that this crime was ever committed. Thanks to word of mouth, their business, The Furlough Cheesecake, took off and hasn't slowed down. They even got a boost in business when Ellen DeGeneres surprised the sisters by having them on her show. Ellen gave them ,000 to help with their business. It didn’t stop there. They got another surprise this month from one of the largest companies in the world. “We found ourselves at Walmart, being able to present our cheesecakes for a tasting,” Howard says. The meeting and taste test went well with Walmart. “Their plans are to get us in the stores before the end of the year,” Wright says. “And she told us, ‘This doesn't happen. New NYPD training videos released Wednesday clearly show officers what they can and cannot do when taking a suspect into custody,But sometimes that training does not translate in real life. There's already there’s a law on the books banning officers from putting people in chokeholds, but the city council wants to take things a step further, banning officers from applying pressure or restricting a suspect's diaphragm.“It’s tough right now to be a police officer," said NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan. "You have to worry that if a suspect shot at you and you put a knee on his back, that now you become the criminal.”Monahan said these new rules have his officers fighting crime with their hands tied behind their backs.Those in favor say that officers are merely being given a script telling them how to behave in a critical incident. However, there are still those that argue that the city council does not have expertise in police tactics.Even so, the NYPD argues every encounter is different and a blanket law is not the answer.
