President Donald Trump suggested during an interview on Wednesday that he will accept the presidential nomination of the Republican party in a live address from the White House later this month.During an interview on Fox News, Trump told anchors that his administration is still weighing its options, but that he's currently leaning toward an option that would have him deliver the speech "live from the White House lawn," calling it the "easiest and least expensive option."Trump also suggested Wednesday that the press would be allowed to attend parts of the convention that will be taking place in Charlotte. Last week, reports emerged that indicated that the administration was considering barring the press from the nomination vote. The Republican National Convention, currently slated to take place between Aug. 24 and Aug. 27, has been completely upended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The convention was originally slated to take place in Charlotte, North Carolina. However, Trump announced earlier this year that he would move portions of the convention to Jacksonville, Florida because he felt North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, a Democrat, was too slow to lift COVID-19 related lockdown restrictions. After cases began spiking at record levels in July, Trump mostly canceled the Jacksonville portion of the event."I looked at my team and I said the timing for this event is not right. It's just not right with what's been happening," Trump said on July 23. 1468
Relatives of Richard Russell say they are "stunned and heartbroken" after the airline worker stole a passenger plane Friday from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and was killed when he crashed 25 miles away."This is a complete shock to us," the family said in a statement Saturday night. "We are devastated by these events, and Jesus is truly the only one holding this family together right now."The statement said Russell, 29, was "a faithful husband, a loving son and a good friend."Referring to audio recordings of Russell talking to air traffic control during his hour-long flight, the statement said his "intent was not to harm anyone. He was right in saying that there are so many people who have loved him."Russell, a Horizon Air ground service agent for three and a half years, was the only person aboard the plane, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department said. The job of a ground service agent includes directing aircraft for takeoff and gate approach, handling baggage and tidying and de-icing planes, authorities said. The incident, which the FBI's Seattle office did not consider terrorism, raises questions about airport security. Investigators headed Saturday to the crash site to recover the plane's data recorders and Russell's remains as part of a criminal probe, authorities said. 1313

Reba McEntire's former home in Lebanon, Tennessee has been transformed into an event space, allowing people to host events where one of country music's biggest stars lived for more than a decade. The home, now called The Estate at Cherokee Docks, has seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Each bedroom is themed after a Country Music, including Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, and of course, Reba herself. “We really wanted to be intentional about paying homage to Reba. There are lots of details throughout the house, lots of horses — she loved her horses obviously. Then, we paid tribute to Country Music icons in each of the bedrooms upstairs to really speak to that," Andrea Williams with The Estate at Cherokee Docks, said."This is Country Music history here, and so we wanted to keep that tradition alive.” Throughout the rest of the home, there are touches that Reba herself put in place, such as a movie theater and wine cellar in the basement.Where the property really shines is the event space that is available. Renters have many options inside the home and the rest of property, including the pool, the nearby Cumberland River, the tennis court, and an area under the trees planted throughout the property. “Reba is such a huge icon. To be in her space, to see all of the wonderful things, to see all the personal touches that she added to the property, and now to have it open to the public so that they can experience that too," Williams said. "They can walk in her three-floor closet and work out in her gym with the same equipment that was here when she was here. It’s phenomenal and there’s nothing else like it anywhere else in the city."The space is ideal for company retreats, special events, and weddings, giving people the opportunity to rent the property for the day, overnight, or for an extended period of time. To kick off their first year, The Estate at Cherokee Dock is providing 30 percent off new bookings. You can find more information on their website. 2141
President Donald Trump says he did not address reports from U.S. intelligence agencies that said Russia paid bounties to the Taliban in exchange for the deaths of American soldiers in a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin last week.Trump made the comments in an on-camera interview with Axios reporter Jonathan Swan.Trump said his July 23 phone call with Putin was a call "to discuss other things," particularly nuclear proliferation. The president also claimed that the report "never made it to his desk," even though several media outlets have spoken to administration officials that have said the report was included in a daily intelligence briefing in February.Trump also referred to the intelligence as "fake news," and added that "a lot of people are saying that it's a fake issue."When pressed on intelligence reports that Russia has supplied weapons to the Taliban, Trump seemed to justify the Russians' actions by citing the fact that the U.S. sold weapons to the Taliban when the group was fighting the Soviet Union decades ago. Trump also claimed that those reports had also "not reached his desk," despite Sec. of State Mike Pompeo's comments denouncing the arms sales earlier this month. When asked directly if he reads his daily intelligence briefing, Trump said he "reads a lot" and that he "comprehends extraordinarily well, probably better than anyone (Swan) has interviewed in a long time."Watch Trump's interview in the player below. 1471
