Bob Seger fans are still dealing with the fallout from his Fall 2017 tour. The heartland rocker wasn't able to perform for medical reasons; a big disappointment for Arizona fan Monica Harty."One of those concerts you wanna see before you die--this was one of them," she says. But after months of waiting for the show to be rescheduled, she decided to ask StubHub for her money back."They said 'well we have a placeholder date,'" Harty says.  But that date was well over a year away and with 6 on the line, Harty was not willing to wait.  Didn't matter. She says she was told, "It still shows in our system that a concert is coming and we don't have to refund.""I said well that doesn't seem exactly right."But it was. Because Seger's shows were postponed---not canceled. Which makes a big difference in the world of ticket selling.  StubHub--where Monica bought hers--has a no refund policy for: "postponed events, partial performances, line-up changes, or venue, date, or time changes."What if she couldn't be there on some random future date? She even filed a dispute with her credit card company. It was denied.Yep, Bob Seger himself would have to officially cancel the concert for Harty to see that money again. The other option?"Well you can go ahead and resell the tickets that you have on our site," she says. "How do I sell something that doesn't exist?"None of it made sense to Harty so she let me know.A spokesperson for StubHub said: Postponed events "typically are re-scheduled quickly. We are always happy to take the customer inquiries and respond to them 1:1 for this show, or any future events."In this case, after seven months of waiting StubHub agreed to refund Harty's money after our inquiry."I feel better," she says but says it doesn't take the place of seeing Seger in concert.Cancellations often trigger an automatic refund. With postponements, you're likely going to have to work for it.  Find out the policies before you buy and decide if it's worth the risk. 2016

Boeing will cut more jobs as it continues to lose money and revenue during a pandemic that has smothered demand for new airline planes. The company said Wednesday that it expects to cut its workforce to about 130,000 employees by the end of next year, down 30,000 from the start of this year. That is far deeper than the 19,000 reductions that the company announced three months ago."The global pandemic continued to add pressure to our business this quarter, and we're aligning to this new reality by closely managing our liquidity and transforming our enterprise to be sharper, more resilient, and more sustainable for the long term," said Boeing President and Chief Executive Officer Dave Calhoun in a news release.Boeing is updating its plans for jobs on the same day it's reporting a 9 million loss for the third quarter, a swing from the .17 billion it earned in the same period last year. Calhoun added that revenue in the third quarter for commercial airplanes was decreased to .6 billion due to COVID-19 lowering delivery volume.According to CNN, Boeing's shares dropped about 2% on Wednesday. The loss was narrower than analysts expected, however. Revenue tumbled 29% to .14 billion. 1210

Bank of America announced on Tuesday that they plan to stop lending money to companies that make assault-style guns used for non-military purposes.During an interview on Bloomberg television, Bank of America Vice Chairman Anne Finucane said, “It’s not our intent to underwrite or finance military-style firearms on a go-forth basis.”According to Finucane, the firm has had “intense conversations over the last few months” with those kinds of gun manufacturers to let them know "it's our intention not to finance these military-style firearms for civilian use."According to CNBC, the bank is a lender to Vista Outdoor, Remington and Sturm Ruger. The move comes as part of a national movement addressing gun control that was put into motion after a gunman opened fire on a Florida high school killing 17 people. Mary Stringini is a Digital Reporter for ABC Action News. BALTIMORE — The University of Maryland, Baltimore has suspended an experiment they were conducting after reports indicate they were denying pain relief to animals they were operating on.  The university confessed they were forced to stop their experiment because they failed to comply with multiple federal regulations, according to the national watchdog group SAEN, or Stop Animal Exploitation NOW!, which monitors U.S. research facilities for illegal activity and animal abuse. While the details about the experiment are still limited, documents from UMB reveal the project was suspended because animals were repeatedly denied pain relief after surgeries, they were not given proper time to recover after surgeries, the staff did not euthanize them after they reached their endpoints and the staff did not properly keep records. In a letter to the University of Maryland Board of Regents, SAEN said animals were not given any pain relief during a procedure involving cardiac arrest, and instead of giving the animals a three- to seven-day recovery period, they were given up to 24 hours. It also said animals were inspected by veterinarians and one animal required euthanasia, but was kept alive. All of this was discovered during multiple separate lab inspections done by UMB research administration. The letter also says during those inspections, the lab was notified of the serious consequences of not providing pain relief to the animals, but still did not get the necessary medications by the time another inspection took place, even though a surgery was going on at the time of the second inspection. After another unannounced inspection, changes were still not made, so the experiment was suspended on October 25. Now, SAEN is urging for UMB to do further research of abuse, terminate the project and refund all of the project support, .9 million, to the federal government. "This failed experiment must be terminated immediately,” said Michael A. Budkie, a co-founder and executive director of SAEN.  "The idea that a principal investigator repeatedly violated their own protocol and denied pain relief to animals indicates a total disregard for proper scientific procedures and total contempt for the authority of UMB Research Administration." SAEN is also calling for the results of the research to not be published because protocol was not followed.  2477
