Medical Marijuana Inc., based in Sorrento Valley, already has a line of CBD products but has to import the raw hemp from outside the United States. That will soon change. On Tuesday, President Donald Trump signed the 2018 Farm Bill. Inside the bi-partisan, 7 billion bill was a revision to the federal laws on hemp, which had largely outlawed commercial production since the 1930s. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A kitchen fire caused an estimated million in damage at a popular South Park restaurant/bar early Wednesday morning.San Diego Fire-Rescue Department officials said crews were called to Hamilton's Tavern & Cafe, located on 1531 30th Street, at around 5:30 a.m. in response to a fire in the establishment’s kitchen area.ABC 10News learned flames burned into the bar’s dining hall and caused some damage to part of a brewery next door.Hamilton’s owner Scott Blair said, “The first thing I thought is I hope everyone’s OK … you’re just like, I hope everyone’s ok because a neighborhood of people living in that building.”As nearby residents were evacuated, crews were able to knock down the flames within 25 minutes, SDFD officials said.Due to the heavy damage to the kitchen, it is believed Hamilton’s Tavern may not be able to operate for the next few months.The restaurant/bar has been shut down since July and was operating out of its sister brewery because it was larger. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A measure to implement ranked choice voting in the City of San Diego will be considered for the November ballot.The city's Rules Committee voted 3-2 on Wednesday to send the proposal to a full council vote, where councilmembers will decide if the measure is placed on the 2020 ballot this fall. The vote is expected to take place in July.Ranked choice voting would allow voters to list up to four candidates in order of preference, instead of casting one vote for a single candidate.RELATED: San Diego to consider major change to 'ranked choice' votingHere's how it would work:The top four candidates in each primary race would advance to the general election, instead of just the top two.In November, voters would then rank the candidates by preference.If one candidate has more than 50% of the vote on first count, that candidate would win. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A man and teen were shot in Linda Vista early Friday while visiting the memorial of another local gunshot victim.San Diego Police officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 6500 block of Kelly Street at about 12:30 a.m. Friday. Several witnesses at the scene told officers a man who had been shot was taken in a vehicle that fled the scene.Numerous bullet casings were found in the area.RELATED: Suspect arrested in Linda Vista shooting that left teen deadOfficers headed to Sharp Memorial Hospital to check for a gunshot victim, where they found two men who had been shot. One victim, a 20-year-old Hispanic man, had been shot in the leg and the other victim, a 15-year-old Hispanic male, suffered two gunshot wounds to the buttocks area and one to the leg.Both victim's injuries were considered non life-threatening. Both were uncooperative with police and no suspect information was available, police added.An officer at the scene told 10News the two victims were visiting a memorial set up for 16-year-old Carlos Valdovinos, who was gunned down in the same area in late May. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man in his 70s was found dead at Sunset Cliffs Thursday afternoon after being reported missing, police confirm. According to the department, the body was discovered just after 1 p.m. near Froude Street and Sunset Cliffs Boulevard. Images from the scene showed crews working to remove the body at the bottom of a cliff. Police confirmed late Thursday evening that the body was that of a man in his mid-70s who was reported missing by his wife. The death has been ruled an accident.
