QUITO, Ecuador (AP) — Julio Mora slipped away from his parents to secretly marry Waldramina Quinteros one February day. Both families disapproved. But seventy-nine years later, they’re still together — he at 110 years of age, and she at 104. Both are lucid and in good health, though relatives say they’re a little depressed because they miss their big family get-togethers due to the pandemic. And they can gather quite a crowd: four surviving children, 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.There are longer marriages, but at the moment none between people so old — just short of a combined 215 years. It's a mark now certified by Guinness World Records. The couple received a certification earlier this month. Previously listed as the oldest were an Austin, Texas, couple, Charlotte Henderson and John Henderson who have a combined age of 212 years and 52 days. 906
Recently, 90 million people had their Facebook account’s breached. Many are still trying to log back into their page, but are unsuccessful in their attempts. Cyber experts say you should first focus on protecting your personal information that could have been compromised. Tekesha Saffold realized her account was breached when she logged in, but soon realized it wasn’t her account. She reached out to Facebook by phone, but she got an automated recording directing her to their troubleshooting page online. “I have no access to my account at this point, and it has all my information in it,” Saffold says. Saffold completed the steps Facebook told her to take in order to gain access back into her account, but it didn’t work.Cyber expert Fred Kneip, with Cyber GRX, says the most important thing to do is figure out what other accounts you sign into using your Facebook credentials. “The first things hackers do is take those passwords or credentials,” he explains. Hackers try to apply those passwords to banking sites and healthcare sites to get more information, and ultimately, steal your identity. That’s why Kneip says to focus on your passwords.“If you are updating your passwords and using unique passwords, that’s the safest way to address this,” Kneip says.He also suggests turning on the dual-factor notification on Facebook. It sends you a text with a set of numbers you have to plug into get into your account, along with your password. He says it’s twice the protection. 1592

President-elect Joe Biden had a stark warning if there is not collaboration on national efforts to combat the coronavirus."More people may die if we don’t coordinate," President-elect Biden said Monday during remarks from Wilmington, Delaware. He urged a coordination effort not only between administrations, but also with Congress, business owners, educators, and governors. "We are at war with the coronavirus," Biden said. President Donald Trump has not conceded the presidential election, and his administration has not formally signed an ascertainment that would allow the incoming Biden administration access to intelligence briefings and department leaders, including the coronavirus team, and funding for transition efforts. Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris spoke about the economy, and their strategy to "hit the ground running" in January when they are sworn in. Biden shared his frustration that President Trump and Congress has not passed more relief as Americans struggle, referencing long-term unemployment numbers and rising evictions. Harris said they had spent Monday talking to business owners representing leaders from corporations, small businesses, and those in between."The road ahead, it will not be easy. But the president elect and I are hitting the ground running," Harris said. She also addressed the disparities in how the coronavirus pandemic is effecting communities of color."Last month, the unemployment rate of Black Americans was almost twice those of others," Harris said, adding that Native Americans were four times more likely to be hospitalized with the coronavirus.Biden repeated proposed policies that would increase the corporate tax and increase taxes for the wealthiest Americans while keeping the tax rate for the middle-class consistent. He's also called for more COVID-19 stimulus and more widespread use of the Defense Production Act in order to create jobs while producing more personal protective equipment."There’s so much we can do, and we can’t do any of this without working together," Biden said. He also urged Congress to pass coronavirus relief funds. Biden's address comes as millions of Americans remained unemployed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier this month, the Labor Department reported better than expected unemployment numbers from October through the unemployment rate remains at just under 7%.Prior to the pandemic, the last time unemployment was as high as 7% was about six years ago, as the country continued to recover from the Great Recession.Biden's comments also come as the stock market has jumped on encouraging news of a potential COVID-19 vaccine. Following Moderna's Monday announcement that its vaccine candidate has been 95% effective in Phase 3 trials, the Dow jumped more than 400 points for an increase of about 1.5%.Despite historic losses in February and March, the Dow remains in the black from the beginning of 2020.Biden also shared that he and his wife Dr. Jill Biden spent the morning deciding who they would spend Thanksgiving with. Saying they were encouraged by health experts to limit their gathering to a maximum of ten people, while still wearing masks and social distancing. 3196
President Donald Trump, after listening to a series of emotional stories and pleas to enhance school safety at the White House Wednesday, floated the idea of arming teachers and school staff, an idea that was met with support from many of the attendees."If you had a teacher who was adept with the firearm, they could end the attack very quickly," he said, stating that schools could arm up to 20% of their teachers to stop "maniacs" who may try and attack them."This would be obviously only for people who were very adept at handling a gun, and it would be, it's called concealed carry, where a teacher would have a concealed gun on them. They'd go for special training and they would be there and you would no longer have a gun-free zone," Trump said. "Gun-free zone to a maniac -- because they're all cowards -- a gun-free zone is 'let's go in and let's attack because bullets aren't coming back at us.' " 922
