Prosecutors say California attorney Michael Avenatti has been rearrested for alleged bail violations. Prosecutors in New York late Tuesday notified a judge that federal authorities in Los Angeles have notified them that Avenatti was arrested in California for alleged violations of the conditions of his pretrial release. Avenatti is scheduled for trial next week in Manhattan federal court. That trial pertains to allegations that he extorted Nike for up to million. He has pleaded not guilty. But he also faces trial later this year in Los Angeles on charges that he defrauded clients. 603

South Dakota doesn't get a lot of tornadoes, but a twister there last weekend was particularly rare -- because it was spinning clockwise.The National Weather Service says the anticyclonic tornado only lasted for about 45 seconds on June 15. That was long enough for it to knock down seven trees at a farmstead outside of Estelline, which is about 80 miles north of Sioux Falls.Only about 1% of tornadoes that hit the Northern Hemisphere rotate in a clockwise direction, the National Weather service says. The weather service used radar data and video to make its determination about the South Dakota storm.Becky Bates shot one of those videos while chasing the storm with her family."It honestly didn't seem unusual to me," Bates told CNN. "This was my first catch. I just chase for fun. But it touched down a couple of times while we sat and watched."The tornado had estimated peak winds of 75 mph and its path was about one tenth of a mile long.It caused only relatively minor damage. Some employees, including 1.2 million middle class workers, could be overtime eligible starting in January under a new policy by the Trump administration. According to the Department of Labor, executive, administrative, or professional employees who make less than 4 a week (,568 a year) will now be eligible for time-and-a-half pay for work performed beyond 40 hours in a week. That is an increase from 5 a week (,660 a year). While the Department of Labor says the new rule is the first time the threshold for overtime eligibility has increased in 15 years, the Obama administration attempted to increase the overtime threshold ,476 a year. The rule, which had the opposition of then candidate Donald Trump, was shot down by the courts after Obama left office. Obama's policy was not defended in federal court by the Trump administration. The policy also increases the threshold for workers known as "highly compensated employees." The threshold increased from 0,000 to 7,432 per year. Those who are considered highly compensated employees are exempt from overtime pay. The Labor Department said it expects nearly 1.3 million workers will be eligible for overtime who currently aren't eligible. Scott County Sheriff’s Deputies are working to track down the driver suspected of opening fire during a road rage incident.“Just one person was in a hurry, but it escalated pretty quickly,” said Sgt. Eddie Hart with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.Deputies say a tractor trailer was heading north near mile marker 141 on I-75 in Kentucky when the driver of a black Chevy pick-up truck apparently became angry after the semi driver cut them off.Deputies say the driver of the Chevy opened fire on the semi.“He heard something but didn't know initially what it was until he pulled off the roadway and found a bullet hole in his drivers door and then the bullet was found in the back of seat. So we came inches away from someone getting seriously injured,” said Hart.Deputies obtained video which the victim told them shows the aftermath of the shooting. The footage shows the Chevy pull up behind the victim's semi. The driver of the semi swerves to stop the Chevy from passing.“We don't encourage that we just ask that people call us and let us come and mediate these issues and hopefully resolve them,” said Hart.Deputies say after the shooting the Chevy truck used an emergency turn area to get onto I-75 south and ultimately evade authorities.“Right now we're looking at a minimum wanton endangerment to possibly attempted murder charge. He's firing a gun into a vehicle, and it's a large 80,000 pound vehicle, that if the driver is incapacitated it could cause serious injury to other people,” said Hart.Thankfully no one was hurt, but deputies are now working to track down the suspected shooter.The black Chevy was hauling a trailer and is believed to have stickers of hot rod cars on the back.Deputies can’t make out the tags in the video, and they’re asking anyone who may be able to enhance the video so they can identify the license place to contact them.This article was written by Kylen Mills for 1922
