SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Normal Heights will become the testing ground for 7-Eleven's newest store strategy aimed at young consumers.The company will open a location of its "Evolution Store" concept at 3504 El Cajon Blvd. "in the next month or so," a company spokesperson told 10News.The store, geared to have a millennial appeal, will offer consumers options like made-to-order coffee and smoothie drinks, kombucha and cold brew on tap, and self-serve frozen yogurt. Food options will boast barbacoa, chorizo, carne asada, carnitas, and breakfast tacos made with fresh eggs, the company says.The store will also boast some tech-savvy options like mobile checkout, a delivery option on the 7NOW Delivery mobile app, and a self-serve vending machine filled with electronics like tablets and headphones."These new stores are invaluable learning labs, where new concepts are tailored to meet the needs of the communities they will serve from sunny southern California to the fast-paced world of the East Coast," 7-Eleven Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Chris Tanco said in a release. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One person was shot Sunday outside of a College Area smoke shop, according to police.It wasn't immediately clear what led to the shooting, but San Diego Police confirmed that a 20-year-old man had been shot just before 5:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of El Cajon Blvd., outside of Aztec Smoke & Vape Shop.The victim was hit in the leg and chest and taken to a nearby hospital, but their condition was not clear.The area was closed by police for the investigation.10News is monitoring this breaking news. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- People around the world are rallying for Navy EOD Tech Chief Petty Officer Kenton Stacy, critically injured in Syria.Five months and nearly 20 surgeries later, he still has a long recovery ahead.Stacy was in Syria clearing a hospital of IEDs when the explosion happened. At the time doctors gave him a two percent chance of survival.Stacy's brave comrades helped pull him from the rubble and to safety. One of them, Staff Sergeant Justin Peck, was honored by President Trump during his State of the Union address.Stacy is paralyzed from the neck down and blind in his left eye. He suffered extensive damage to his lungs, vocal chords trachea. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Prosecutors say streetlight camera video revealed the killer of an East Village business owner. A bevy of surveillance and streetlight video was released during the preliminary hearing for Kevin Cartwright and Lorena Espinoza, accused of killing of Tony Radda, 49.October 2018. Just before 3 p.m., store surveillance video shows a woman wearing a purple wig and sunglasses enter the store.Video shows Radda and the woman going towards the back, possibly to show her some merchandise. Right away, a man in a mask is seen trailing behind them, lurking. When Radda and the woman return, the man in the mask attacks Radda, dragging him out of camera range. Prosecutors believe that is when Radda was shot several times and killed.Soon after, the masked man is caught prying open a cash register. Prosecutors say while the woman took off in an SUV; the man walked away.According to prosecutors, that walk was captured by a string of streetlight cameras. In one of the videos - about 12 blocks away from the store - the man in the mask sheds it, revealing a face, police eventually identified as Cartwright. On Friday, the judge is expected to decide whether the two will go to trial. 1206

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police are working to identify a body discovered at a shipyard along San Diego Bay.The body, only described as a white male, was found at Continental Maritime of San Diego shortly before 12 p.m. Saturday.
