Thursday marks the third anniversary of a mass shooting that left 58 people dead and more than 800 people injured.On Oct. 1, 2017, a gunman in his hotel room at the Mandalay Bay fired into a country music festival across the Las Vegas strip, killing 58 people and injuring 411 others. A total of 867 injuries were reported at the scene.The city will mark the anniversary with a sunrise memorial. The organization is charged with helping laid off workers find new jobs. But CEO Peter Callstrom said the traditional job fair wouldn't work, and opted for a more relaxed environment."We can do it with some great craft brew and conversation and find that next career path," he said. The partnership came up with a smaller, happy hour style job fair, where former Qualcomm workers could connect with local tech employers like ESET and Tritech Software Systems.
