A Florida mother says her daughter was denied lunch on the first day of school because she didn't have money to pay a 15 cent debt.Kimberly Aiken told WKMG-TV in Orlando that her daughter, a sophomore at University High School in Orange City, Florida, was told that she owed 15 cents when she went through the lunch line on the first day of school this week. When she told the cashier that she didn't have any money on her, the cashier allegedly threw the food away.Aiken's daughter did not eat anything for the rest of the school day.According to CBS News, Aiken signed her daughter up for a free and reduced-cost lunch program at University High School. However, the program hadn't taken effect yet. Aiken suspects that the 15 cent deficit was carried over from last year.A spokesperson for the Volusia County Public Schools said the district has contacted the family directly about the issue.Aiken's daughter reportedly brought a quarter to school the next day to cover the deficit and was told the shortage had been taken care of.Alex Hider is a writer for the E.W. A local pastor is speaking out after he says a woman leaving a pizza place in Detroit coughed on him as they crossed paths. The woman was wearing a mask, he wasn’t, and the whole incident was captured on surveillance video.Michael Hale and his wife Victoria were out celebrating Juneteenth, but when the couple went to get a pizza the celebration turned to anger. He says a woman started interrogating him about not wearing a mask.“She literally started to say things to me like, where is your mask or did you lose your mask. And so I told her my mask is in the car, I’m not going to be in here,” he said. “She literally walked back out, leaned over and coughed directly into my face."Surveillance video of the incident captured every moment, from when Michael crosses paths with that woman and she appears to cough in his face. Michael immediately reacted.“I just basically told her that you can’t do this stuff, 'why did you do this to me. I didn’t do anything to you like that,'” Michael recalled. His wife, Victoria, was sitting in the car and couldn’t believe what she saw. She says they filed a police report after the incident but was told police can’t do anything about it.“The sergeant told me that no criminal charges will be filed against her and in the State of Michigan it is currently not a crime to cough on someone," Victoria said. "But, according to the prosecutor they can’t go after things like this because it’s not a crime and they don’t have the resources to pursue these types of things."Michael says he should of had his mask on, but what happened to him shouldn’t have happened at all.“You don’t have the opportunity to police me and to ridicule me for not wearing my mask because no one made you in charge,” he said.DPD would only confirm to us they are investigating. Michael says he always wears his mask. He says from now on he won’t take any chances. This story originally reported by Alan Campbell on wxyz.com. 1947

A Chinese court has banned the sale and import of most iPhone models in a stunning decision sure to escalate the nasty trade war between the United States and China. The ban does not cover the new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Plus or iPhone XR, which were not yet available when Qualcomm filed its lawsuit. The phones covered by the ban make up about 10% to 15% of current iPhone sales in China, according to Daniel Ives, analyst at Wedbush Securities. The court granted a pair of preliminary injunctions requested by Qualcomm, an American microchip maker. Qualcomm claims that Apple violates two of its patents in the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X. The patents allow people to edit and resize photos on a phone and to manage apps by using a touchscreen, according to Qualcomm. The practical effect of the injunction is not yet clear. The ruling was announced publicly Monday but put into effect last week, but Apple said in a statement that all iPhone models remain available in China."If Apple is violating the orders, Qualcomm will seek enforcement of the orders through enforcement tribunals that are part of the Chinese court system," Don Rosenberg, general counsel for Qualcomm, said in a statement.Apple accused Qualcomm of playing dirty tricks, including asserting a patent that had already been invalidated by international courts, and other patents that it had never before used. Apple said it will pursue a legal response in court."Qualcomm's effort to ban our products is another desperate move by a company whose illegal practices are under investigation by regulators around the world," Apple said.Apple on Monday filed a request for the court to reconsider its decision. Qualcomm applauded the ruling, saying Apple owes it money for using its technology."We deeply value our relationships with customers, rarely resorting to the courts for assistance, but we also have an abiding belief in the need to protect intellectual property rights," Don Rosenberg, general counsel for Qualcomm, said in a statement. "Apple continues to benefit from our intellectual property while refusing to compensate us."Investors were mostly unmoved. Apple's (AAPL) stock was about flat Monday afternoon. Qualcomm's (QCOM) stock rose 2%.  2293

A man in a rented pickup truck mows down people on a busy bicycle path near the World Trade Center. Eight people are killed, and the attack is almost immediately called an act of terror.A man armed with a rifle storms into a Texas church during Sunday morning service and starts firing. More than two dozen people are killed, but investigators don't call it terrorism. Why are some violent acts labeled terrorism and others not? And does it even matter? 460
