DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) - Nine doctors and medical professionals are facing federal drug charges in connection to DEA illegal opioid prescription investigation. Agents raided medical officers across Southern California for "Operation Hypocritical Oath," which targeted doctors, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and clinic operators in California and Nevada. "A stern message to corrupt doctors who seek to profit from spreading addiction," said U.S Attorney Nick Hanna. Among those arrested, Monica Ann Berlin of Del Mar. The Department of Justice says the 41-year-old stole a doctor’s signature stamp and prescription pads to write fraudulent prescriptions.Berlin forged at least 44 prescriptions for controlled substances from April 2015 to 2017, according to the DOJ. According to the criminal filed against her, Berlin sent text messages to her buyer using coded language by describing the drugs as “candies" and “Tic Tacs.”Investigators say the bogus scrips were filed at pharmacies in Rancho Santa Fe and Beverly Hills. The DOJ says 15 people died because of drugs related to some of the practitioners in this investigation and this epidemic remains their top issue. Delta and other airlines have shown that their mask policies are not just a suggestion, going so far as to remove passengers from flights if they do not wear a mask.Passengers who refuse to wear a mask on Delta Airlines will no longer fly with Delta, according to internal communications."Although rare, we continue to put passengers who refuse to follow the required face-covering rules on our no-fly list," says Delta CEO Ed Bastian in an internal memo to employees shared with CNN.That has resulted in about 240 people banned from flying on Delta.The memo, dated August 27 and seen by several media organizations, was celebrating the opening of Delta’s new Salt Lake City hub, and included an update on the current state of the airline.Since implementing a mask policy in June, the number of passengers on the no-fly list has more than doubled. Bastian told CNN on August 7, "We've had well over 100 people that have refused to keep their mask on during the flight."That reportedly includes a former Navy SEAL who claims to have killed Osama bin Laden. DELAWARE COUNTY, Pa. — A mother was arrested in Ohio for allegedly creating child pornography of her own 3-year-old daughter, the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office announced on Tuesday.Kayla Parker, 26, of Dayton, Ohio, was charged with felonies including the sexual abuse and exploitation of children, endangering the welfare of a child and indecent assault.According to the office of Attorney General Josh Shapiro, Parker lived with her ex-boyfriend, David Carbonaro approximately four years ago. During that time, Parker committed inappropriate sexual acts with her daughter, the 3-year-old victim, including the creation of child pornography.“This is an egregious case – a mother who preyed upon and sexually abused her own three-year-old daughter,” Attorney General Josh Shapiro said.When investigators executed a search warrant at Carbonaro’s residence in July, they reportedly found hundreds of images and several video files of a 3-year-old girl in various stages of undress. At least one file depicted an adult female’s hand reaching inside the victim’s underwear.Carbonaro identified the victim and her mother to agents.According to a probable cause affidavit, Parker told investigators that, "Carbonaro would watch her abusing the victim and often masturbate during the act."During that same interview, Parker allegedly told investigators that, on numerous occasions during the time she lived with Carbonaro, she undressed and escorted her 3-year-old daughter to a bedroom, shut the door and left her alone with Carbonaro. Carbonaro was arrested in July, following the raid at his residence. (CNS) - An 80-year-old motorist was found dead today inside her crashed car at the bottom of an embankment alongside a dirt road near the Sycuan Casino.A hiker came upon the crumpled gold Lexus ES300 roughly a half-mile from the southern terminus of Sycuan Road in the rural Dehesa area about 8 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.The driver's name was withheld pending family notification. Her car apparently veered off an unpaved rural byway on the grounds of Sycuan Indian Reservation, careened down the adjacent hillside and struck a large oak tree."The Lexus was equipped with a lap- and shoulder-belt restraint system along with an airbag system," CHP public-affairs Officer Travis Garrow said this afternoon. "At this time, it does not appear the (motorist) was wearing her seat belt at the time of the (accident)."When the crash occurred was unclear, though a camera at a nearby guard shack captured images of the Lexus passing through the area about 2:30 p.m.Tuesday, according to Garrow.
