BEIJING, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- China's central authorities initiated a level-four emergency plan on Sunday afternoon in response to severe flooding in southwest China's Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality.
The two injured were sent to a nearby hospital and one died at 3:30 p.m.after rescue efforts failed.
There are still four of the 11 earlier found alive waiting to be lifted to safety. The fates of the remaining four of the 16 trapped, however, are unknown.
