The two sides should also have closer coordination and communication regarding major regional and global issues so as to push for further progress in the development of bilateral ties and jointly safeguard global peace and stability, Li added.
"I'm so happy (about the new agenda), because we are factoring in the aspect of sustainability and broadening the agenda, you can't handle it as just an HIV/AIDS issue, it's broader than that," she said.
"I think it achieved those expectations and maybe exceeded those expectations a little bit," said Douglas Paal, vice-president for studies of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a Washington-based think tank.
