Samuel and Ronan Peterson will have an interesting story to tell for the rest of their lives, thanks to Daylight Saving Time.The infant twins — born overnight on Nov. 6, 2016 — have a strange twist to their ages because of the time change.According to Cape Cod Healthcare in Massachusetts, Ronan is the older twin despite being born 31 minutes after Samuel.How does that work?According to hospital officials, Samuel was born at 1:39 a.m. Eastern and when his twin Ronan was born 31 minutes later, the clock had reset to 1:10 a.m., instead of being 2:10 a.m., because Daylight Saving Time had come to an end.So, despite technically being 31 minutes younger, Ronan's official time of birth is listed as 29 minutes earlier than Samuel's.One of the hospital's maternity nurses, who has 40 years on the job, said she'd never seen anything like it.Seth Peterson, the boys' father, figured something strange was going to happen due to his wife Emily giving birth on the night of Daylight Saving Time's end."I said earlier that night that they were either going to be born on two different days or the time change was going to come into play," he said, according to Cape Cod Healthcare.Clint Davis is a reporter for the Scripps National Desk. SAN DIEGO — (KGTV) -- The Del Mar Fairgrounds is weighing its legal options after the KAABOO Music announced that it would move to Petco Park in 2020, the venue's CEO told 10News.Fairgrounds chief executive Tim Fennell declined a formal interview, but pointed to language in the Fairgrounds' contract with KAABOO that blocks the festival from holding a similar event within a 75-mile radius the year it cancels the contract. KAABOO announced Sunday it would end its contract with the Fairgrounds for the 2020 concert and move to Petco Park downtown.RELATED: KAABOO under new ownership days after revealing move from Del MarThen this week, KAABOO announced its assets were sold to a new company, an affiliate of Virgin Fest.In a statement, a spokeswoman for KAABOO said the prior contract's terms do not apply."As reported, we acquired only the assets of KAABOO. San Diegans already pay some of the nation's highest gas taxes, and they're about to fork over even more at the pump.On Wednesday, the state will raise the per-gallon tax by 12 cents to 41.7 cents per gallon. That's on top of existing state and federal taxes drivers pay on regular gasoline. Gov. Jerry Brown and the state legislature approved the increase earlier this year to help fund state and local transportation projects. There's an interactive project map here. The new tax is supposed to generate about billion over the next 10 years. "For us just regular people, we don't have the extra money to pay for gas, especially with the commute," said La Mesa resident Anneke Crowder, who was filling up Monday. But there is one force at play that could lessen the hit from the increase. The day the tax goes up, Wednesday, is also the day that gas stations can start selling the less expensive winter blend.Marie Montgomery, a spokeswoman for the Auto Club, says that should cut the gas price about 6 cents, offsetting half the increase.Diesel drivers will be hit harder on Wednesday, when the per-gallon tax increases 20 cents, and the sales tax goes up to 13 percent. On Monday, the average gallon of regular gas cost .05 in San Diego, and Diesel .14.  1308

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (KGTV) -- Three Camp Pendleton Marines were stabbed during a fight Saturday in San Clemente, a sheriff’s official confirms.The fight happened around 1 a.m. Saturday in a parking lot on the 200 block of El Camino Real.The three Marines, two aged 21 and the other a 23-year-old were involved in a fight with two men and a woman.RELATED: Woman finds Marine Corps ring on Florida's Siesta Key, hopes to find ownerDuring the fight, one of the men pulled out a knife and stabbed all three Marines. All three of the men were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.The Marines were all assigned to the 1st Battalion, 4th Marines at Camp Pendleton.Deputies arrested 24-year-old Alexis Moreno-Aguirre on suspicion of attempted murder.
