America's largest group of child doctors updated its guidance on cloth face coverings for kids in sports to cover competition on Friday and now recommend youth athletes wear cloth face masks during games.The American Academy of Pediatrics' previous recommendation suggested they wear masks on the sidelines, in between drills, or when entering or leaving the field.In addition to wearing masks during games, the AAP also suggests that practices are kept small and teams do not mix with other teams or coaches.The AAP added that face coverings can be removed when participating in swimming, or where they could become a choking hazard or impair vision like in cheerleading, gymnastics, or wrestling. 706

An advisory committee is recommending Americans age 75 and older, along with essential workers like firefighters, teachers, and grocery store workers should be next in line for the COVID-19 vaccine.This second wave of people comes after the first tier of health care workers and long-term care facility residents that was agreed to by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices earlier this month should get the first of the vaccine shots that started last week.The committee, composed of health experts in the field of immunization, makes recommendations to the CDC, and they are almost always adopted.They voted Sunday afternoon on the recommendation, it was 13-to-1. They also discussed the next tier, which could include Americans age 65-to-75, as well as those who are age 16-to-64 who have high-risk medical conditions, and other essential workers not already vaccinated, according to CNN. It comes as a second COVID-19 vaccine, made by Moderna and the National Institutes of Health, begins being shipped around the country for approved emergency use and a second week of shipments arrive of the Pfizer vaccine.The CDC says roughly 556,000 Americans received the first dose of the vaccine last week. The Pfizer vaccine started being given on Monday, December 14.The general overseeing the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines says they are on track to deliver about 20 million doses before the end of the year. Each person must receive 2 doses of the vaccine for full effect, which has been shown in both vaccines to be higher than 90% effective.As for when the second tier of frontline workers and those age 75 and older will receive their vaccines is up to state governors depending on their vaccination plans and distribution of the vaccine. The advisory panel is offering guidance to state leaders about how to handle distribution of the vaccine. 1872

A few months ago, she was sitting at home when she decided to plug her name into the Illinois unclaimed property website. “I was surprised to see there was an entry,” she says. Fast forward a few weeks, and she had a check in hand for .80.If you are wondering if you have unclaimed property, here’s how to find out.Search online at state agenciesThe National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators’ website, Unclaimed.org, links to agencies in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and other territories. With these sites, you can search unclaimed property databases for free. The organization also sponsors MissingMoney.com, which lets users search multiple states at once, though not every state participates.To pull up the property database, you will likely be asked to enter a last name. You could also enter a first name, city or ZIP code to help narrow the search. From there, you may find entries detailing the owner’s last known address, property amount and the company that initially held the funds. Depending on the database, the state may provide the exact amount of the property, or give a range, such as “under ” or “ or more.”Barlow says her entry was from an old internet provider. The company owed her a refund because she moved and switched off service before her billing period ended. But it didn’t have the correct forwarding address, so it sent the money to the state. Barlow says she filed a claim online, and it was processed within two weeks. “Even in the pandemic, it didn’t take long to receive it,” she says.Finding a small amount can still give you breathing room in your monthly budget or help pad your emergency fund. These accounts may earn 10 times more than the national average, so you can take the unexpected funds and grow them even more.The smaller amounts may not make you rich, but they can still be worth searching for, Walker says. “At the end of the day, it is your money.
