SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — While the bulk of rainfall has moved out of San Diego County for the week, high winds and surf while persist through the weekend.A large west-northwest swell will bring a high surf advisory to San Diego County through Saturday until 8 p.m., with surf reaching 6 to 10 feet along the county's southern coastline. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Two puppies soon to be up for adoption in San Diego are already capturing hearts around the world.Two 3-month-old terrier-blends, named Star and Denver, were taken to Helen Woodward Animal Center on Feb. 11 after their mother had been dumped in a rural location in Louisiana. They were taken by van about 1,900 miles through a partnership with the rescue group Heart of Louisiana.Once in San Diego, it wasn't long before staff learned about Star's unique challenges and special bond with her brother. Star is blind and deaf and Denver had taken on the role of guide dog for his sister.RELATED: Assemblyman Todd Gloria announces bill to end puppy mills in California"While the rest of [Star's] littermates frolicked without her, her brother Denver kept a protective eye on her," the animal center wrote. "Choosing Star as his main playmate, the two were rarely apart and when separated, Denver would come running back to love on Star and let her know he was there."The pair's heartwarming story has made its way across the world, according to the animal center. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Backers of the two competing plans to replace the stadium site in Mission Valley are making their final pitches to voters in a campaign in which each side has spent millions of dollars."We've learned a lot about the politics of San Diego," said Nick Stone, Project Manager for Soccer City, which is Measure E on the ballot.Stone and his team of developers want the centerpiece of the land to be a new stadium for a Major League Soccer team. Measure E also includes promises for new housing, retail, an entertainment complex, and San Diego River park."That's what people care about," Stone told 10News in an interview the day before the election. "They want to know they're getting fair value, that something's going to happen, and that we're going to live up to the commitments we're making. And we are."Should Measure G win, the city would sell the land to the CSU system with plans for a new west campus for San Diego State University. The centerpiece to this plan is also a stadium, in this case, for the Aztecs football team. SDSU West also includes housing, retail, and a river park, along with new research and classroom space and a science center."San Diegans want their kids and their grandkids to be able to have a great education at San Diego State University. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- When entering most newly reopened businesses in San Diego County, customers will need to sign in with their name and phone number.The change only applies to businesses now offering indoor services; the county’s public health order was updated to reflect the changes now in effect for the following sectors:Hair Salons & BarbershopsPersonal Care ServicesGyms & Fitness CentersRestaurants, Wineries, Bars, Breweries, and Distilleries that serve food.“It’s a very modest step that can aide in our close contact investigation, and I think can help slow the spread and help these businesses stay open,” said County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher.Many people already give their name and phone number when making a reservation at a restaurant or booking a hair appointment; this won’t look much different, just more widespread, and businesses will also keep the sign-in sheets for three weeks.“In the event, there is an outbreak or exposure, I think most people would want to know if they’ve been exposed so they can quarantine or potentially get tested,” said Fletcher.If a COVID-19 outbreak happens, customers who visited will be notified if they were possibly exposed. If you have done business with the city in the past three years, you may be due funds from to ,797. There is no charge to search the data or to file a claim.” There are more than 2,100 accounts, city officials said.
