FREMONT, Neb. (KMTV) — For two sisters, the pandemic has brought some joy. After being separated at an early age, they've reunited and they say it was all because of COVID-19."To find out how I got to find her was because it was the Lord’s blessing," said Doris Crippen.Doris may be the first person happy about getting COVID-19."No, I seen her once when she was a baby and I held her. And the rest of my life growing up I never thought I’d find her again," said Crippen.Doris and Bev Boro were two long-lost sisters and are now reunited at Methodist Fremont Health."Our search is over, we don't have to look anymore," said Crippen.Boro is a medication aide at the hospital, and when she recently saw a list of patient names, one caught her attention -- Crippen's. So she wrote a message on a dry erase board since Doris is hard of hearing."I went in with one of the whiteboards and I said to her, 'is your father Wendall Huffman?' She goes 'that's my daddy', and I pointed at myself and I go 'that's mine, too.'" said Boro.Crippen, who has since recovered from COVID-19, was in the hospital for a broken arm after a fall due to weakness caused by the virus."I looked at her and I looked at her some more after she asked me about being Wendall Huffman’s daughter... she has to be some kind of relation to me,” said Doris.Boro said she was nervous about breaking the news and for Crippen it was emotional."She said 'I am your sister, Bev.' And I literally stood up out of the chair and burst into tears. It's just a happy feeling. It's been 53 years since I've seen her when she was a baby,” said Crippen.Boro had researched her sister before, without luck, but now thanks to a global pandemic, they both feel their world is a little more complete."If it wasn't for that, I would have never found her. FRANKLIN, Indiana — Authorities in Indiana are warning people of a scam involving a person who is claiming to be a sheriff's deputy in order to deceive people into sending money.According to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, a woman came to the Johnson County Jail on Wednesday who said while she was at work she received a call from an individual who claimed to be a sheriff's deputy.The individual told the woman she had a warrant for her arrest due to failure to appear for jury duty selection. The suspect told the woman if she wanted to avoid arrest she needed to pay the fines by purchasing ,000 worth of Apple Store gift cards. The suspect also told the woman she would need to go to the sheriff's office with her receipts to prove her identity.After making the initial purchase in pre-paid gift cards, the suspect informed the woman 0 was not transferred, according to the sheriff's office. The suspect reportedly told the woman to purchase another 0 in pre-paid Apple gift cards. The woman said she was on the phone with the suspect for approximately two hours until all the transactions were made and confirmed. She then drove to the sheriff's office where she was informed she was the victim of a scam.The woman was distraught and told deputies she is recently divorced and the money used from her saving account was being saved for her children's Christmas gifts. 1413

Observers have gone from fearing 0 oil to expressing concern over why its price collapsed so quickly."The unrelenting six-week selloff has been unnerving to say the least," Michael Haigh, head of commodities research at Societe Generale, wrote to clients on Wednesday.Oil bulls are hoping OPEC and Russia come to the rescue by announcing steep production cuts at a meeting next month in Vienna. However, President Donald Trump is pressuring Saudi Arabia and OPEC not to reduce output despite the crash in prices. Traders are worried Trump's recent praise for Saudi Arabia signals the Saudis won't back a significant production cut.For the week, US oil prices are down nearly 10%.Lukman Otunuga, research analyst at FXTM, described the weekly selloff as "brutally bearish."Brent crude, the global benchmark, shed 5.5% on Friday and declined to a new 2018 low of a barrel.The meltdown was triggered by a series of developments that darkened the energy outlook.
