Philbert, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. With the endorsement and full support of the U-M Board of Regents, I have placed Dr. Philbert on administrative leave, effective Jan. 21, 2020, pending the results of an investigation we began on Friday, Jan. 17.I will follow up in the coming days regarding the appointment of an acting provost and executive vice president for academic affairs.We take allegations of sexual misconduct very seriously, and our policy is clear: Sexual misconduct will not be tolerated in the University of Michigan community.I want to apprise everyone of what has happened over the last few days and the actions we have taken. On Thursday and Friday, Jan. 16-17, 2020, the university received several allegations of sexual misconduct by Dr. Philbert. We began an internal investigation Friday. Over the next three days, the university retained an outside law firm which immediately launched an investigation of the allegations, our Division of Public Safety and Security was engaged, and Dr. Philbert was directed not to report to work. I placed him on administrative leave Tuesday.The Office for Institutional Equity, who would normally handle such investigations, reports to the provost. Today, I have moved OIE’s reporting line for all matters related to this investigation to Associate Vice President for Human Resources Richard S. Holcomb.The U-M Board of Regents and I are committed to a full and thorough investigation, and we will continue to work to ensure the integrity of the process, following the same policy and practices that apply to all employees at U-M. Ticketmaster is reportedly exploring ways for concertgoers to return to shows safely amid the coronavirus pandemic.According to Billboard, one way is to verify that they've been vaccinated or tested negative for the virus before attending a show.The ticket-selling company said they'd set up a way for the customers' test results to be sent to third-party health companies. Through its digital app, Ticketmaster would tie those test results or vaccination status to a ticket digitally that'd be used to enter events, Ticketmaster president Mark Yovich told the outlet.According to Yovich, concertgoers would be required to get tested approximately 24 to 72 hours before a show.Billboard reported that Ticketmaster would not have access to users' medical records nor store their results or medical information.The company added that they'd only receive notification that fans have been OK'd to attend an event on a specific date. 936

Wednesday's package, addressed to former CIA director John Brennan, who actually works for NBC, arrived in the mailroom and forced an evacuation of the building.Friday's package, addressed to CNN contributor James Clapper, the former director of National Intelligence, was intercepted at a nearby post office.All mail destined for CNN's US offices is now being screened first at off-site facilities.This means the package to Clapper "would NOT have come directly to the TWC, even if it hadn't been intercepted first," CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker said in a Friday morning memo.Zucker held an informal town hall for New York employees on Thursday to share security updates and answer questions.
