FLORENCE, Italy, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Visiting Chinese President Hu Jintao said Tuesday that China highly values its relations with Italy and is willing to broaden consensus and deepen pragmatic cooperation with the country in various fields. Bilateral relations have developed smoothly since China and Italy established diplomatic relations 39 years ago, Hu said at a meeting with senior Italian officials, including Culture Minister Sandro Bondi and Toscana Region's President Claudio Martini.     He added that the two countries have further deepened their cooperation in politics, economy, culture and other fields especially since they set up an all-around strategic partnership in 2004. BEIJING, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang has called for stepped-up recycling to achieve better use of resources.     Li made the comments during a visit to pilot enterprises Thursday. He also attended a forum on the development of recycling economy.     Li emphasized the importance of recycling and urged companies to cultivate new areas of economic growth, as the global financial crisis still weighed on the real economy. BEIJING, June 17 (Xinhua) -- China's political advisors brainstormed Wednesday on the country's economic development and offered suggestions about coping with the impact of the global downturn.     They gave their advice as the standing committee of the 11th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee continued its sixth meeting, which started Tuesday.     Li Yining, a renowned economist and one of the members of the standing committee, said restructuring and innovation were pivotal for an economic recovery. SINGAPORE, May 15 (Xinhua) -- China Aviation Oil said on Friday that its net profit in the first quarter of this year fell by 54.6 percent on-year to 4.1 million U.S. dollars.     The company said in a statement that revenue fell by 34.8 percent to 655.6 million U.S. dollars in the first quarter of 2009 over the same period last year.     The company said the drop was mainly due to lower jet fuel prices in the first quarter of this year, adding that it will continue to take a cautious approach to its trading activities during the global downturn.
