VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) — One person was killed after being struck by a vehicle in North County.The person was hit on northbound Vista Village Dr., between W. Vista Way and Wave Dr., according to San Diego Sheriff's Department. It wasn't immediately clear how the collision occurred.No further information was immediately released. 336

Volunteers at a Chicago food bank got a surprise treat for the holidays.Former President Barack Obama paid an unannounced visit Tuesday to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, where he helped bag potatoes for Thanksgiving meals.Wearing a Chicago White Sox hat, Obama arrived with bags of donated food and donned latex gloves to work side by side with volunteers at the nonprofit, which helps provide meals to more than 700 food pantries and shelters across Cook County, Illinois.The former President and longtime Chicago resident came with staffers from the Obama Foundation, which seeks to improve communities across the US through leadership training and other educational efforts."Hey, how's it going?" he asked volunteers as he walked in. "Ii found such a cool fascination to the colors, shapes, and varieties," she says.Now when Jessica graduated from college, she thought she'd go into public relations. Little did she know that her hobby would become her career."I actually started creating succulent pumpkins with my grandmother every fall as a hobby. VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) --  A California Highway patrol car assisting with construction was hit by a tire just after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night. The incident, caused when a Chevy Silverado lost a spare tire, happened on the westbound 78 near the Sycamore Avenue, according to CHP. Several people swerved to avoid the tire as it entered the highway, causing at least three crashes. Lanes were closed for a little more than one hour. No CHP officers were injured, but the patrol car was towed from the scene. At this time it's unclear if the driver of the Silverado knew that the tire was lost.  637
