SEATTLE (AP) — Starbucks says it will offer delivery in most of the U.S. by early next year.The Seattle coffee company launched delivery last fall in Miami with its partner, Uber Eats. It has since expanded to 10 additional U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago and New York.Starbucks says Uber Eats will remain its preferred provider as it rolls out delivery more widely.Customers in most areas where Starbucks and Uber Eats operate will be able to order drinks and other menu items. (KGTV) - A Paradise family is thanking the San Diego community, after donations began pouring in for them following the deadly Camp Fire.The Harrisons are currently staying with family in Santee after the fire destroyed their homes. With nothing to return to, the family said they may make San Diego their permanent home and have already started looking at schools for their teenage son."I don't think Thanksgiving could have come at a better time," said Emily Keith, who evaded flames while carrying the family's three pets and caring for her brother."I had to go up on sidewalks and into front yards and in between trees, and try to maneuver my way out of town," Keith said.RELATED: Light rain falling on Camp Fire zone could hurt search effortDuring the evacuation, the children were separated from their parents. At one point, their car caught fire and they were forced to run from the flames."It was a life or death situation, honestly," Haley Harrison said. "I was running down the road hoping that someone would stop."The family made it safely to Chico nearly seven hours later. While they haven't been able to go back to Paradise, they've seen photos of their homes burned to the ground."My kids are safe. 18 years of stuff and memories we had in the house are gone but I don't care about that," Haley and Emily's dad Tyler said. "You hit the reset button. Sears, the once-dominant retail chain that changed how Americans shopped and lived, has filed for bankruptcy.The 132-year-old company has been struggling for several years and is drowning in debt. The company issued a statement saying it intends to stay in business, keeping stores which are profitable open, along with the Sears and Kmart online shopping sites. SAN YSIDRO (CNS) - A pedestrian was struck and killed by a van early Monday morning while he was attempting to cross a San Ysidro street, police said.It happened shortly before 1:10 a.m. in the 400 block of East San Ysidro Boulevard, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said.The unidentified man, believed to be in his 40s, stepped off the east curb of East San Ysidro Boulevard and was struck by a 64-year-old man driving a 1999 Chevrolet Astro van in the northbound lanes, Buttle said.The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Buttle said.The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, Buttle said.Alcohol or drugs were not believed to be factors in the collision, Buttle said. (KGTV) - An animal rights group is suing an organization purporting to be an animal rescue for allegedly violating a new California law.ALDF claims that Bark Adoptions, registered to an address in Menifee, Calif. has been supplying dogs to pet stores in “an unlawful scheme to sell and launder puppy mill puppies .”They claim it violates AB 485, a California law that was enacted on January 1 of 2019, sometimes referred to as the “Puppy Mill Ban.”The law prohibits pet stores from selling animals from breeders, instead, only allowing stores to sell dogs from shelters or rescue groups.The law specifically states that a “rescue group” must have tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(3) organization by the IRS. Furthermore, it must be in a “cooperative agreement with at least one private or public shelter.”In February, 10News reported that Bark Adoptions had been supplying dogs to stores in San Diego County and Riverside County. Undercover video from the animal rights group, Companion Animal Protection Society, showed young, apparently purebred and designer puppies being sold for thousands of dollars.10News obtained interstate certificates of veterinary inspection that showed Bark Adoptions was getting the 8-10 week old puppies shipped from another purported rescue in Iowa, called Rescue Pets Iowa.The investigation by ALDF followed the same trail and alleged the defendants conveyed “those puppies to pet stores for profit.”“This is what we’re alleging in our lawsuit, that it amounts to nothing short of a puppy laundering operation that we’re gonna try to stop with a court order,” said Christopher Berry, a staff attorney with ALDF.10News reached out to Lara Abuzeid, an attorney for Bark Adoptions, but did not receive any comment on the lawsuit. 1788
