POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies in Polk County, Florida are on the hunt for the man who allegedly pushed a woman out of a moving vehicle at over 75 miles per hour.Deputies say Remond Brown, 44, and his girlfriend got into an argument at dinner because she was on Facebook.According to deputies, the argument continued while the two were driving back to Pinellas Park. They say things turned physical, and that Brown slapped and punched the victim, with a closed fist, multiple times on the face.Witnesses in other vehicles advised that the suspect vehicle was driving erratically westbound on Highway 60 in Lake Wales. That's when deputies say Brown reached over and opened the victim's door and pushed her out of the car while traveling at highway speeds, approximately 75-80 mph, per the witness accounts.Two witnesses stopped to helped the victim."Other travelers on the road stopped to help the victim, but not Remond," the Polk County Sheriff's office said on Facebook. "He did stop, but only to look back at the victim and yell, 'Blank this blank', before getting back into the car, and driving off. And no, 'blank' was not the word he used."Deputies said the victim was clearly distraught and made multiple statements to the witnesses that "he was going to kill me, he is going to kill me, don't leave me he will kill me." Brown left the scene in the victim's Black 2017 Honda Accord. The vehicle has a Florida license plate with tag number 717TDH. Brown is approximately 5-foot-4-inches tall and weighs roughly 170 pounds.Deputies say that there is a history of physical violence and Brown has a history of run-ins with the law, ranging from charges of grand theft to murder.The Polk County Sheriff's Office has issued a warrant for his arrest with charges of 2nd Degree Attempted Murder, Battery (Domestic Violence), Violation of an Injunction, and Grand Theft Motor Vehicle pending.  1948

(KGTV) - Family and friends are preparing to say goodbye to a Poway teen, killed while driving home from college for Christmas break."She always brings a positive vibe wherever she goes. Her smile can really brighten up the room," said friend Brandon Kim.For the friends of Kim Huynh, smiles for them are hard to muster."To me it was just shock," said Kim.Last Thursday night, the 18-year-old Huynh was driving back home to Poway with her older sister after finishing her first quarter at UC Riverside, when the car spun out on a Murietta highway, slamming into a tree and killing her. Her sister suffered minor injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation."She was one of my closest friends," said Kim. Kim met Huynh in grade school."Super smart. Ten times smarter than me," said Kim.Kim said his friend also had a joyful side and loved having fun. Huynh danced for one of Rancho Bernardo High's dance teams. After graduating, she enrolled at UC Riverside on scholarship. The pre-med student also hoped to help her immigrant parents."She said she wanted to become a doctor to give back to them for taking such good care of her," said Kim.After her death, friends gathered this weekend to remember a promising life cut short."Everybody broke down ... I want to grow up with everyone. The fact I have to leave someone behind breaks my heart," said Kim.The funeral is planned for Thursday. "We've always done Christmas, but Christmas exploded for us about seven years ago."For two weekends in November, customers flock to their pop-up store, Christmas at the Barn. It's a Christmas haven for the holiday shopper."It's really become a big family tradition for our customers. They come with their friends, and we have three generations that shop together. We get customers coming from Palm Springs, Orange County, and from as far away as Las Vegas and Arizona," McNamara said.From Christmas ornaments and trees to gnomes, and holiday signs, it's all about making the home merry and warm during the holidays. "We try and bring those items to you that are unique and different," says McNamara. "Where your house feels like a home you want to be, and where you want to celebrate with your family and friends." Of course, this year will be a bit different as in a COVID-19 version of Christmas. Last weekend the store had a line that went out the door. This weekend, as San Diego has entered the state's purple reopening tier, McNamara does not know what to expect."How many people are going to come? We don't know anything. We are limiting our capacity, we are requiring masks at all times covering the mouth and the nose, and we require the use of hand sanitizer at the door," she said.Christmas is all about family and friends. This year, the pandemic will make it more restrictive — but that may mean starting to spread joy even earlier this year."Over decorate your house, and put your tree up now. Who cares, as long as it brings you joy and happiness. Do it, there are no rules this year. It's all about enjoying the season and making those special moments with the little bit of family you can.
