SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Three Port of San Diego Harbor Police officers tested positive for coronavirus, the department announced Wednesday.After learning of the positive results, the Port of San Diego says it notified the department and port staff.The officers are isolated and undergoing treatment at their homes and will seek further care should it be necessary. Their condition is unclear at this time.The department also said it’s working with San Diego County health officials to conduct contract tracing and notify people who had close contact with the officers.“Prioritizing the health and well-being of the public, our partners, and Port employees and their families, the Port encourages and reminds the public, for their health as well as that of first responders, to wear face coverings, practice and maintain social distancing, wash hands frequently, and avoid crowded spaces and gatherings,” the Port of San Diego said in a news release. 953

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The trolley's Mission Valley stadium site will be closed for two years due to construction on Aztec Stadium.MTS' stadium station will begin the two-year closure on Sunday, Nov. 1, as crews continue to transform the stadium land into a stadium for San Diego State University. The closure will impact the Sycuan Green Line.The station plans to reopen in 2022.The station is a vital connection between SDSU's main campus and the stadium. Once construction is completed, the stop will continue to serve SDSU students, faculty, and staff traveling between the school's main campus and the new SDSU West site.The station has operated adjacent to the stadium since 1997, greeting visitors for Super Bowl XXXII, the World Series, numerous sporting events for the Aztecs, Padres, and Chargers, and concerts for bands like The Rolling Stones, Metallica, Elton John, Beyonce, and more. 901

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The Trump administration’s latest effort to keep asylum seekers out of America is being met with opposition. Attorney General William Bar directed immigration judges to deny bond hearings for asylum seekers arriving at the border. The ruling does not go into effect for another 3 months and Barr himself noted it will have a "significant impact" on the already overcrowded detention centers. “A person can be detained indefinitely," said immigration attorney Edward Orendain. "This is just another attempt by this administration to make things more difficult for those seeking asylum.” The Department of Homeland Security acknowledged overcrowding many of their detention centers along the border earlier this month and requested the 90-day delay after Barr’s ruling on Tuesday. “It’s only a call to build more detention centers,” said Benjamin Prado with American Friends Service Committee. “Those contracts go to a private prison corporations that make huge amount of profits on the detention of people, off the ‘warehousing’ of individuals.”Barr’s ruling is expected to be challenged in court. 10News has reached to Immigration and Customs Enforcement on how this would affect their centers in San Diego. 1234

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego FBI is asking for information on an image, which it says may help lead to the identification and rescue of child victims.One of the images shared to the FBI’s Twitter page shows a piece of clothing that appears to depict a cartoon character on a broomstick. The FBI also shared a PDF with more images in an effort to dig up information. See the attachment below for other photos:The agency says it uses image analysis to identify clues as to where a child may be held.“By recognizing these clues and/or sharing additional observations from the backgrounds of these images, you may help first to identify and rescue the child victim(s) and second to capture the perpetrator,” the agency said.“There is no clue or piece of information too small,” the agency added.Anyone with information is asked to call their local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate. Alpha Project, though, is at capacity every night, with waiting lists of 50 to 200, depending on the weather."Someone doesn't show up for bed check and that bed's rolled up; our outreach team goes out at 9 o'clock down the street and people cue up.
