RAMONA (CNS) - A motorcyclist was killed in a crash today on the Barona Indian Reservation.A motorcycle was hit and ended up underneath a Ford sedan around 1:30 p.m. on Wildcat Canyon Road more than a mile south of Little Klondike Road, according to a California Highway Patrol incident log. The area is about halfway between Barona Resort and Casino and the community of Ramona.Passersby stopped and were able to pull the motorcyclist out from underneath the car, but the biker succumbed to injuries suffered in the crash, the CHP said.The northbound lane of the road was shut down.Identifying information on the victim was not immediately available. 659

President Donald Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen, is under federal investigation for tax fraud and possibly misrepresenting his finances, people familiar with the investigation told The Wall Street Journal.The reported investigation adds to the wide-ranging federal investigation Cohen is already facing in relation to his business affairs and work with Trump. According to the Journal, authorities are investigating whether Cohen underreported his income in federal tax returns, in which he reaped hundreds of thousands of dollars over the last five years.People familiar with the matter told the Journal that authorities are also investigating whether any bank employees were improperly permitted to offer Cohen loans when he didn't provide adequate documentation. Investigators are reportedly examining Cohen's relationship with Sterling National Bank, which financed Cohen's taxi medallion business, and looking closely at whether Cohen lied or misrepresented information on loan applications.Investigators are also looking into whether Cohen inflated his income "in loan applications and refinancing efforts," people familiar with the matter told the Journal.Cohen's former accountant, Jeffrey Getzel, has been subpoenaed as part of the investigation, the paper reports.Cohen has not been charged with a crime and the Journal said he previously denied wrongdoing. Reservations will be required on Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner route during the Thanksgiving holiday period to safely manage the increase of travelers and control the spread of COVID-19.The company announced Thursday that a reservation will be required on trains that travel between San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties beginning Monday, Nov. 23 through Nov. 30 to help manage the capacity and allow customers to socially distance.Additionally, the Rail 2 Rail program will be suspended during this period, and monthly Metrolink and COASTER passes will not be accepted onboard Pacific Surfliner trains on these dates.Amtrak monthly and 10-ride passes may still be used. The center also runs a pet encounter therapy program."The enormous growth of adoptions is based on the undeniable way pets create a happier, more loving home," center spokeswoman Jessica Gercke said.
