Earlier this month, councilwoman Barbara Bry wrote a letter to MCAS asking pilots ot adhere to flight corridors that avoid direct traffic over University City. Neighbors in the area are still coping from the 2008 crash that killed four people when a jet went spiraling into two homes. "We’ve already had one accident in UC years ago," said Don Hoetz. "Right below that flight path and we just don’t want to see that happen again."MCAS released a statement to 10news, saying in part;"All aircraft routes, including departures over University City, depend on a myriad offactors including weather, other air traffic, and the flight characteristics of the aircraft. The Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has confirmed that a soldier who was wanted in connection with the disappearance with Pfc. Vanessa Guillen shot and killed himself during an interaction with police Wednesday morning.In their statement, CID also confirmed that a civilian suspect had been taken into custody by the Texas Rangers in connection with Guillen's disappearance. The civilian, an estranged wife of a former Fort Hood soldier, is currently being held in the Bell County jail.The Army did not identify either suspect in their statement.The announcement came as Guillen's family delivered a powerful press conference in Washington, calling on Congress to investigate her disappearance and sexual harassment in the military.During that press conference, the family said they believe that remains that were found in Texas on Tuesday were Guillen's.Family members also said her superior officers sexually harassed Guillen before her disappearance. They said that before her disappearance, Guillen told family members and other soldiers that she was being harassed by her superiors. However, she did not report the abuse to her superior officers because she feared retribution.Guillen's sister gave an impassioned speech in which she accused Army officials of "lying to her face" throughout the investigation into Guillen's disappearance.Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, appeared at the press conference along with the family and echoed calls for a Congressional investigation."We need to know why she did not get the help when she needed it," Gabbard said.Guillen, 20, was last seen around 11:30 am in the Regimental Engineer Squadron Headquarters' parking lot at Fort Hood on April 22.It wasn't until late June that the Army said it suspected foul play in connection with Guillen's death. Stark similarities between a San Francisco brewery's beer can and the iconic soft drink cups used at In-N-Out prompted the burger chain to issue a cease and desist letter, though not without some light-hearted humor.Seven Stills Brewing recently crafted a new Neapolitan-style beer called "In-N-Stout," wrapped in a design resembling the much-loved burger chain's cup featuring palm trees and its signature yellow arrow.The resemblance is uncanny. So much so that it forced the burger chain to respond with a letter, politely asking the brewery to ditch the can.The brewery posted the pun-laden letter on Instagram, with the caption, "We count 9. Can you find them all?""Based on your use of our marks, we felt obligated to hop to action in order to prevent further issues from brewing," In-N-Out wrote. "We hope you appreciate, however, that we are attempting to clearly distill our rights by crafting an amicable approach with you, rather than barrel through this."We look forward to resolving this in good spirits," the letter ends.It's not the first time the brewery has taken inspiration from a popular brand.
