AGOURA, California — The movie set ranch featured in the HBO television series “Westworld” and almost 500 other productions was destroyed in the Woolsey Fire, Santa Monica Mountains park rangers tweeted Friday. The piece of Hollywood history, known as “Western Town” at Paramount Ranch, was located in Agoura. With its rolling hills and canyons, it was used to create an Old West look for film and television shoots.Paramount Studios bought the 2,700 acre ranch in the golden era of Hollywood. According to the National Park Service, the permanent Western Town was built in the 1950s and posed as Tombstone, Arizona, and Dodge City, Kansas. In addition to “Westworld”, the set also served as the home of “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” and episodes of Gunsmoke. ALPINE, Calif. (KGTV) — An East County dog owner is crediting a pet psychic for reuniting her with her missing, injured dog.7-year-old Bonnie bolted out of the front door of Missy Benker's home after the door was left open late Tuesday night. "Definitely a desperate feeling," said Benker. The Dachshund mix and another dog, Holly, escaped the home together. An extensive search of Benker's 20-acre ranch turned up nothing. Holly appeared early Wednesday morning.RELATED: Escondido City Council to decide fate of pet alpacas"The way she was acting, it was like she had been through something traumatic," said Benker.Frantic, Benker called on pet psychic Jennifer Harmel, who asked for a photo of Bonnie. She says that helped her tap into Bonnie's energy."I could see what she was seeing, because she was sending me pictures of what she saw around her," said Harmel.Benker says Harmel zeroed in on a field just beyond her ranch, near some trees and large rocks. Harmel told her the dog had been attacked with injuries on the left side of her face and right side of her body. She added that Bonnie was scared and hiding. She said, 'I'm going home,'" said Harmel. That's when Benker decided to open a particular gate on the property, closest to the search area. About 20 minutes later, something remarkable happened. Benker says doggie prints showed Bonnie had walked straight past the gate and onto the back patio. RELATED: Why more employers are offering discounted veterinary care"Relief was the biggest thing. Beyond happy to see her," said Benker. The injured Bonnie had bite marks, likely from a coyote, on the left side of her face and right side of her body — just as Harmel said."No way she could have known these things ... She has a gift ... I have Jennifer to thank for getting Bonnie back," said Benker.Bonnie came home bleeding and exhausted, but should make a full recovery. 2082

About 30,000 doses of an experimental coronavirus treatment are shipping out Tuesday. It's Regeneron's antibody cocktail that got an emergency use authorization (EUA) from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) over the weekend. It’s also the same treatment President Donald Trump got last month.Patients who are diagnosed early with COVID-19 may be eligible. The goal is to keep them from getting sicker, so they don't have to go to the hospital. But the treatment still needs to be given through an IV.“The challenge is there has to be a place to administer it, so a place where you can have COVID patients in an infusion setting where they can be treated and monitored. This is not straight-forward,” said Dr. Helen Boucher, Chief of Geographic Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Tufts Medical Center.Any transfusion centers administering the IV will charge for those services.“The medicine itself is paid for by the government right now under the emergency use authorization. Those other charges have to be managed and they'll be managed by insurance, Medicare or Medicaid,” said Boucher. It's unclear if patients will need to request the treatment or if doctors will choose who to prescribe it to.In trying to get it to areas that need it most, the federal government will work with states on distribution. The problem is everywhere is seeing spikes right now.“We know that at least for 2020, the supply is going to be very low, so many of us in the infectious disease community and all the health care community are concerned that this resource will be allocated in an equitable way,” said Boucher. After this initial rollout, Regeneron says it expects to have 80,000 doses ready by the end of the month, 200,000 by the first week of January, and then 300,000 by the end of that month. 1796

After threatening to shut off city utilities to homes in Los Angeles violating coronavirus pandemic public health orders, the mayor has taken action twice so far. Both houses reportedly continued to hold large gatherings or parties despite rules limiting group sizes to limit the spread of the coronavirus. On Tuesday, Mayor Eric Garcetti authorized city employees to shut off service to a home after its owner and residents held multiple large parties. The home is in the Cahuenga Pass area, near Hollywood Hills.https://twitter.com/MayorOfLA/status/1300905954666360832Los Angeles police responded to the home on August 24 after reports of a large gathering, according to the LA Times, and officers posted warnings on the property. The house hosted another large gathering on Sunday. The mayor then authorized services shut off.On August 5, Mayor Garcetti said he would authorize crews to shut off city water and power to homes that violated city rules limiting gatherings during the coronavirus pandemic. The first home to have their utility service disconnected was on August 19 in the Hollywood Hills area. In a tweet, the mayor said the action was taken “to stop the large parties held there in flagrant violation of our public health orders.”https://twitter.com/MayorOfLA/status/1296203922911027200The rental home was reportedly being used by Tik Tok stars Bryce Hall and Blake Gray, who are now facing charges. When he announced the misdemeanor charges, City Attorney Mike Feuer said he is not aware of any COVID-19 cases at the time that have been linked to their parties.Police have left warning notices at another home after a large party this week, according to KTLA.Garcetti and city officials are warning people to be safe and stay distant over Labor Day weekend.“Gatherings — parties, cook-outs and the other activities we usually do with non-household members on holidays — can easily lead to increases in transmission, hospitalizations and deaths,” L.A. County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said in a statement. 2041
