Home values rose 10.1 percent to 1,100.According to the latest census numbers, in the year-span ending July 2017, adding up all the people moving into and out of California translates into a net loss of 138,000 people. In San Diego County, there is also an apparent exodus with a net loss of nearly 16,000 people in the year ending in July 2017. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police believe the deaths in Otay Mesa Sunday of an elderly man and woman may be a murder-suicide.Police have identified the suspect and victim in the incident as James 82-year-old Rafferty and 83-year-old Kazuko Rafferty. Police believe James shot Kazuko several times and then used the same gun to take his own life. Dispatchers received a call about 10:30 a.m. requesting a welfare check on a married couple who lived at the Ocean Bluffs Mobile Home Park on Del Sol Blvd.Officers responded to the home and received no answer when they knocked on the door and made several phone calls. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - New advertisements against Measure B riled up supporters, who spoke out against the massive development Friday.The commercial states, "Measure B the Newland Sierra project, is a luxury development," something supporters vehemently deny."What I think is disingenuous is making people feel fearful of what can happen in this development," supporter Melinda Vasquez said.Friday, dozens gathered in Kearny Mesa to advocate for Newland Sierra's development project. She is a first generation American (her parents moved from Mexico) and a teacher. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Postal workers across San Diego will have an extra pickup this Saturday - they're working to end hunger in San Diego. The San Diego Food Bank and the National Association of Letter Carriers are asking San Diegans to participate in the annual Stamp Out Hunger event by setting out bags of nonperishable food items next to their mailboxes. The letter carriers will pick up the donations on their route and deliver them to the Food Bank's warehouse. “After the holiday season, food donations drop dramatically, and this one-day food drive helps us restock our shelves ahead of the summer months when we see increased in demand from children on summer vacation who stop receiving free school meals and face hunger at home,” said San Diego Food Bank President & CEO, Jim Floros.Last year, 244,489 pounds of food was collected from homes in San Diego County alone for the San Diego Food Bank and our North County Food Bank chapter.The food was distributed through the Food Bank’s network of 400 nonprofit partner agenciesMost needed items:  1096
