SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego health officials Monday night confirmed the county’s first presumptive positive case of coronavirus. Dr. Wilma Wooten said the woman, who is in her 50s, tested positive after traveling overseas to an unspecified location and time."The case and exposure details are under investigation," Wooten said. The woman, a San Diego County resident, is in the hospital and is doing well, according to Wooten. Scripps Health officials confirmed that the patient is being treated at Scripps Green Hospital.Scripps Health also said: "As a cautionary measure, we have taken immediate steps to identify staff who may have been exposed and place them on home quarantine as appropriate with our full support, and we will provide additional staffing as needed. We are also assisting the county in identifying anyone not on Scripps’ staff who may have been exposed. If identified, the county will provide notification and manage those cases."Officials said Scripps Green and the nearby Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines are "safe for patient care and all appointments and procedures are continuing as usual at both facilities."RELATED: Santa Clara County announces first coronavirus deathHealth officials say at least one person in the woman's household is under self-quarantine. There were also "some healthcare worker exposure contacts" that are being investigated, but officials said there was no known general public contact at this time.Wooten did say that more cases are probably."It is not unexpected that we will have more cases of COVID-19 in San Diego, and we will report those to the public as they are determined," Wooten said.Watch the news conference on the announcement below: Also Monday night, the University of California San Diego announced that all lecture and discussion courses would be delivered remotely. “Starting in Spring Quarter, all lecture and discussion courses will be delivered remotely. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County businesses have until Saturday morning to make sure they are up to par with the state’s COVID-19 purple tier guidelines, but El Cajon’s mayor said businesses in his city won’t be punished for not abiding by the rules.Mayor Bill Wells said he’s fielding a flood of phone calls and emails from El Cajon businesses since the county moved into the purple tier earlier this week.“People are coming up to me saying, ‘We’re not going to close, if we close, we’re never going to reopen.’ And, ‘We don’t want to have issues with the county or state, but we need to feed our family, pay our mortgages,’ and I understand,” Wells said.Since the pandemic began, the El Cajon City Police Department has already been told to categorize COVID-19 related enforcement calls as a low priority. Wells said that approach will not change this weekend.“If somebody called and said there was a nail salon or hair cutting place open, we’re not going to go shut them down. We reserve the right to do some enforcement,” said Wells. “If you don’t like the fact that there’s a business open, don’t go in there. That’s fine, you don’t have to go in there. Don’t give into the temptation to control someone’s behavior and if you do, do it in a civil nice way.”Though he said he understands the concern about the increase in COVID-19 cases, Wells said he believes the attempt to control the spread of the coronavirus shouldn’t be handled like this.He said, “We’ve had a disease as long as people have been alive, and disease runs its course. Everyone gets exposed, they develop antibodies and they move on; as far as I know we’ve never shut down an entire economy.”All of the restrictions will go into effect Saturday at midnight. 1743

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diegans now have even more problems they can report by the touch of a button. The city is continuing to add categories to its "Get it Done" smartphone app, which launched in 2016. The app originally allowed San Diegans to report stormwater and street issues, but currently has nine categories, including code enforcement, graffiti, and even passport appointments. The city says it gets 10,000 reports per month on the app.RELATED: San Diego battles illegally painted red curbsIn August, the city added features that allow people to report cars parked longer than 72 hours, illegal dumping, and HAZMAT related issues. In the next year, the city will allow people to buy trash bins off the app, and to report suspected enforcement violations - such as illegal structures. The city says it requires personal information with a complaint to help verify the facts. "For us, if it's not easy to interact with the city, we're going to put that into 'Get it Done,'" said Alex Hempton, the city's project manager. RELATED: San Diego clean-up crews turn focus to fire-prone canyonsChris Cott, has used the app for years to report graffiti in San Diego. He says it helps to make sure the work gets done, even if it is on private property."When it gets done, it gets done right," said Cott, who paints over graffiti on public property. "It doesn't just get rolled over gray or something like that." 1444

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in several Mission Valley vehicle burglaries. According to police, three separate vehicles were burglarized in a parking garage on the 2200 block of Camino de la Reina on August 16 between 2 and 5 a.m. Surveillance video captured the suspect using a flashlight to look into several vehicles in the garage. The suspect then broke into the vehicles by shattering windows, taking miscellaneous items, police say. The suspect is described as a white male with a medium build last seen wearing dark colored, framed glasses, a black t-shirt with a white image on the front, blue jeans and black and white tennis shoes. He was also wearing a backpack, police say. Anyone with information is asked to call San Diego Police at 858-495-7957 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a ,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. 953
