Law enforcement arrested a man in connection with a West Palm Beach-area sledgehammer attack and theft of thousands of dollars?in February.Roady Sanozier, 38, is charged with hitting a courier, employed by Cord Financial Services, with a sledgehammer and stealing 8,000 in a heist at a business center on North Australian Avenue in Mangonia Park.On the day of the attack, the suspect fled the scene in a black Toyota Tundra. Law enforcement searched a neighborhood near the scene the day of the attack and robbery but did not arrest anyone.Sanozier, a former Cord Financial employee who was fired in August 2017 for stealing more than ,000 in cash from the company, was developed as a possible suspect in the robbery.A probable cause affidavit said that Sanozier posted a video on April 21 of himself near a black Toyota that was parked beside his car.Using that video and Google Maps, detectives traced the video to a home in Coral Springs, where they found him and took him into custody on April 25.Sanozier admitted to police that he wired ,000 cash to Haiti on Feb. 17 and bought three vehicles for a total cash value spent of ,500.A friend of Sanozier owned the Toyota Tundra, but investigators believe Sanozier was the getaway driver the day of the robbery.He faces homicide, battery, robbery and larceny charges in connection with the attack.  At a Wednesday morning court hearing, no bond was issued. LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) - A developer in La Mesa says multi-generational homes could be the key to helping solve San Diego's housing crisis.The Phair Company has plans to build 30 such homes on a 10-acre patch of land near Eastridge Drive. The development is called "La Mesa Summit Estates."The homes will feature an extra master-suite, with a bathroom, kitchenette and separate entry. Families with aging parents or adult children who live at home can use that suite to give them independence, while still keeping the family together."We heard from the community that they wanted to have this," says Austin Dias, one of the partners in the company.The Phair Company did four community meetings to help plan the development. The idea for multi-generational homes came from people who attended. They also heard that people wanted one-story homes to avoid going up and down stairs.After the meetings, the company changed their plans, downsizing the community from 39 to 30 homes and adjusting the floor plans. Now, the development will have 22 single story homes, and eight two-story homes. They range from 2,300 to 3,000 square feet."I love it," says Dr. Karen Childress-Evans, who lives across the street from the land. "It's very conscientious to how society is growing right now. Kids are moving back home, we're taking care of our parents. This is a safe alternative to sending them off someplace else."The company also thinks the cost savings will help in today's housing market."This is just part of what needs to happen in San Diego," says Dias. "It just makes sense to keep families together. "The company has an interest list of around 80 potential buyers. They expect it to grow as word gets out about the project.Dias told 10News he's heard of other companies doing a few multi-generational houses in larger developments, but this is the only one he knows of where every home is built with the extra suite.The project still needs approval from the La Mesa Planning Commission, and then the City Council. Dias says he's hopeful that will happen this summer, so they can break ground and start construction in the fall. He's hopeful that the homes will be ready by this time next year. LA MESA (KGTV) -- A man who mistook his gas for the brakes crashed into the side of the Marque Urgent Care Wednesday.Police say the man was driving his SUV on Lake Murray Boulevard near Dallas Street when he hit the gas instead of braking.The vehicle then struck a tree, hit the Marque Urgent Care, taking out two load-bearing pillars, knocked over two handicapped parking signs and eventually became lodged in an iron railing at a barbecue restaurant.Following the crash, the urgent care facility was evacuated and closed.The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with cuts. 603

(WFTS) -- This week, Amazon kicked thousands of sellers off its site for price gouging and Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody announced she’s investigating dozens of sellers amid the growing coronavirus pandemic.But KGTV sister station WFTS in Florida learned that while those sellers were making big profits off customers’ fear and misery, Amazon substantially raised its own prices on products like hand sanitizer, protective masks and toilet paper.Wayne Farmer sells groceries on Amazon, shipping them in boxes to customers out of his Lithia, FL home.“When this pandemic hit in the past month, our business has really just doubled, tripled,” Farmer said.Farmer knows his items are expensive because he has to pay a shopper to buy them at retail price at local stores, then he pays to ship them to Amazon or directly to customers and he pays Amazon fees of up to 30 percent.“When you see a price out there of on six cans of something, just realize at the end, the person who originated that, me, may have made ,” he said.But other Amazon sellers may have been price gouging, which is defined as when a seller increases the prices of goods, services of commodities to a level much higher than is considered reasonable or fair.Earlier this week, Amazon announced it removed 500,000 listings and 3,900 third-party sellers from its site for suspected price gouging.More than half of Amazon’s total annual sales come from those sellers.According to Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, those sellers on Amazon the site raised prices by up to 1,600 percent for things like hand sanitizer, cleaning supplies and protective masks.But the I-Team has learned those third-party sellers weren’t alone in substantially raising prices.“When we looked at the data, we saw price increases from both Amazon and third-party sellers,” said Greg Mercer, founder and CEO of Jungle Scout.That company tracks Amazon sales data and sells it to third-party vendors.Mercer says Amazon not only earned commissions from those sellers accused of price gouging, it also more than doubled its own prices on essential goods as the COVID-19 pandemic grew between early January and mid-March.At one point earlier this month, Amazon listed a four-pack of its own brand of toilet paper for .We contacted Amazon about Jungle Scout’s findings, but a spokesperson wouldn’t directly answer our question about whether Amazon engaged in price gouging.She said in an emailed statement:· Amazon is working with state Attorneys General and sharing information to help them hold price gougers accountable· Amazon has instituted additional manual audits of products in its stores due to the increase risk of price gouging from unscrupulous sellers seeking to evade their automated systems and take advantage of consumers· Amazon leverages a number of automated and manual methods to detect potential price gouging in our store.
