TAMPA, Fla. - A "Back the Blue" mural was painted outside the Tampa Police Department headquarters over the weekend.On Saturday, about 40 people came together and painted the mural on East Madison Street in downtown Tampa. The mural was created to show support for law enforcement."When they walk into the police department or when they go to work or they're patrolling the streets, they see that mural and they know they have a community behind them," said Cassandra Kistler.Kelli Campbell and Cassandra Kistler are members of Back the Blue Florida. The ladies helped organize the project.People from Community Patriots of Tampa also helped paint the mural."We had people just walking by that were inspired to pick up a brush and a roller and start helping us," said Campbell.Some people on social media are criticizing the mural or showing their support."We've been criticized a lot like it's not the best, it's not this, it's not that. It's community and community did it and brought it together and made it happen," said Cassandra Kistler.A Change.org petition said, "This mural seems to mock the Black Lives Matter movement and is a huge slap in the face for all the protesting we have been doing all over this country.""Everybody's entitled to voice their opinions and voice what they want," said Kistler."This has nothing to do with race. Now, researchers say they have details of larger reptiles, alligators, regrowing their tail.A team of scientists from Arizona State University and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries were surprised to discover the alligators have the ability to regrow their tails up to 9 inches. Their report was recently published in Scientific Reports.“Overall, this study of wild-caught, juvenile American alligator tails identifies a distinct pattern of wound repair in mammals while exhibiting features in common with regeneration in lepidosaurs and amphibia,” the researchers concluded.The wild-caught alligators most likely lost their tails by traumatic injury, the scientists stated. The team also had samples of regrown tails from alligators who had died."The regrown skeleton was surrounded by connective tissue and skin but lacked any skeletal muscle (which lizard tails do regenerate with)," Kenro Kusumi, co-senior study author and professor and director of ASU's School of Life Sciences and associate dean in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, told CNN.Even without muscles, a regrown tail is important for alligators’ survival.The team hopes their research will help scientists working on regenerative therapies in humans. Cell phone video shows people pushing and shoving each other on the field. The violent scene unfolding in the middle of a soccer tournament in Temecula. A stampede of hundreds of parents and children running from what they thought was an active shooter. Erik Saur shared video in the moments before he grabbed his 9-year-old daughter. A video captured the moment the chaos started. 10-year-old boys started fighting when spectators swarmed the field. One of the boys that was hurt was from the Albion Team in Chula Vista. In the midst of the chaos, a man who had a camouflage duffel bag caused hysteria. “He rushes to the sideline and he pulls out the backpack and someone is telling him ‘don’t do it’ they said must have a weapon.”The man was detained by deputies for a short time. Investigators say there was no weapon, but the fear was real. The father of the child injured says his son will be okay. Coaches and parents plan to meet later this evening to discuss safety measures moving forward. (AP) — NASCAR says a noose was found in the garage stall of Bubba Wallace on Sunday at the NASCAR race in Talladega, Alabama.Wallace is the only full-time Black driver in NASCAR's elite Cup Series.
