CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- The man suspected of robbing a South Bay credit union was arrested following a crash Wednesday afternoon. According to Chula Vista Police, a man entered the Cal Coast Credit Union on the 300 block of East H Street around 2 p.m. Wednesday. Police say the man approached the teller window with his hand in his pocket simulating a weapon and demanded cash from the employee. After receiving the cash, the suspect left the credit union, getting into a getaway vehicle. Police were able to locate suspect based on vehicle information provided by a customer at the credit union. Officers spotted the vehicle going eastbound on H Street and tried to pull the suspect over, but he didn’t stop instead leading police on a chase. At some point during the chase, police say the man ran a red light on Otay Lakes Road, slamming into another vehicle. Both the suspect and victim in the crash were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police haven’t yet released the name of the suspect but say he is under arrest for the bank robbery and felony evasion. 1100

CHULA VISTA (CNS) - A 29-year-old man was stabbed in the torso and leg Friday morning at a homeless encampment in Chula Vista, police said.Firefighters requested police assistance at 4:30 a.m. after responding to a report of an injured man in the 2400 block of Main Street, east of Interstate 5, Chula Vista police Lt. (KGTV) - A South Bay dentist is donating his time and services to a local Border Patrol agent with ALS.10News first showed you Jeff Miranda’s fight against his deadly disease earlier this month. Miranda was diagnosed three years ago. He is now in a wheelchair and uses eye gaze technology to communicate.Dr. Alex Liu of the Otay Lakes Dental Group saw the 10News story and decided to help. Nestor Medina was charged with three counts of animal cruelty in connection with the encounters 10News first reported in Otay Mesa last March. “It’s heartbreaking,” Alfonso Galindo said. Galindo checked surveillance video of his home on Agosto Street. Cameras recorded a postal carrier walking up to Galindo's mailbox and past the metal front gate. Behind the gate is Pupa, and as the mail carrier places the mail in the mailbox, a cylindrical object is seen in his left hand. At the same time, from another camera, Pupa is seen behind the gate beginning to convulse for several minutes.
