It opened in 2008 during the teeth of the Great Recession, when downtown had a different feel.“Lot of crime,” said co-owner Shannon Sager. “We had people grabbing money. Our tip jar had like in it once, people ran in, grabbed it and ran out. We started gluing it to the table. That doesn’t happen anymore.”As the downtown landscape shifted, more breweries opened nearby.“The next thing you know, it started taking off,” Sager said.Bagby Beer Company, Belching Beaver, Legacy Brewing, Northern Pine Brewing, Oceanside Brewing Company and Golden Coast Mead now round out Oceanside’s craft scene. OCEAN BEACH (KGTV)- Big waves continue to pound the coast today. A High Surf Advisory is issued until Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Waves reached heights up to eight feet Thursday and along Ocean Beach Pier, some waves reached 10 feet. As we normally see during high surf, advanced surfers made their way to the beaches. In Ocean Beach, crews continued their work to repair the pier despite the high surf below. Waves up to 10 feet crashed into the pier. One Ocean Beach resident tells 10News, "you know we spend all this money to live here and this is one of our facilities, it's sad when its closed". Crews are still on track to reopen the pier by Memorial Day, according to the City of San Diego. 709

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) -- A woman was arrested in Oceanside after trying to smuggle methamphetamine with her 7-year-old in the car. Border Patrol agents pulled the woman over near the Oceanside Harbor Interstate 5 exit just after 4 p.m. Tuesday. After becoming suspicious of the driver’s behavior, agents found more than 48 pounds of the drug inside a duffle bag in the trunk. The 26-year-old driver, a Mexican national with a valid tourist visa, was arrested for felony drug trafficking. The minor child was placed in the care of local child protective services. On Wednesday morning, a viral post on Twitter claimed that there were more ballots cast in Wisconsin than registered voters. As the Wisconsin Elections Commission helped explain, that claim is not supported by data.The tweet, which has since been removed, claimed that there were only 3,129,000 registered voters in Wisconsin. However, that number represents the registered voters in the state from the 2018 midterms.After the tweet went viral, the Wisconsin Election Commission tweeted an explanation. The election commission said the State of Wisconsin had 3,684,726 active registered voters as of Nov. 1. Nye County, Nevada is suspending the license of Dennis Hof, the owner of the Love Ranch Brothel.Authorities say that his brothel is not up to code - with significant fire and safety violations.Nye County officials confiscated all the work cards from the sex workers last weekend.Hof will have to get approval from the county to get his license reinstated.The Love Ranch Brothel has gained national attention throughout the years.
