A Ypsilanti teen says he worked hard to buy the car of his dreams, only to find out the car he had bought from a man on Craigslist was registered as stolen. Daniel O’Bryan has been balancing high school and his job at a grocery store for the past two years. He saved up enough money to buy a 2008 Trail Blazer from a man on Craigslist. O’Bryan and his family thought through their research. “My husband checked all three spots on the car to make sure the VIN number matched with the title that the gentleman had, and everything came back fine there were no red flags or anything,” O’Bryan’s mother, Kathy O’Bryan said.It was not until they had taken the car to the Michigan Secretary of State that they found out the car was listed as stolen. The rightful owner of the car is Sal’s Auto Parts out of Detroit. ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — The man who killed John Lennon in 1980 says he was seeking glory and deserved the death penalty for a "despicable" act. Mark David Chapman made the comments last month to a parole board before it denied him parole for an 11th time. The now 65-year-old inmate expressed remorse for gunning down the former Beatle. Chapman called his actions "creepy" and "despicable." He said he thinks all the time about the pain he inflicted on Lennon's wife, Yoko Ono. ALPINE (CNS) - A motorcyclist was killed Friday afternoon in a collision with a truck on a rural East County road.The crash occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on Japatul Valley Road, near Bell Bluff Truck Trail in the Alpine area, according to the California Highway Patrol.The motorcyclist died at the scene of the accident, which left the two-lane roadway blocked into the early evening, the CHP reported.The victim's name was not immediately available. 459
