Then, they had a child.Then a second.Then a third.Life plans started changing, and the family of five moved from their Chicago apartment to a home in the middle of the mountains in Colorado.Matt started working on a ranch, preparing meals for visitors who would come to enjoy the vast landscapes and mountains of the state’s western slope.All of this--the moving, malleability, open communication--has helped the couple tackle their partnership’s biggest challenge yet: COVID-19.During the summer of 2019, the two bought a small space on Palisade, Colorado’s Main Street, and they turned it into a fine dining experience the town of 2,700 had never seen before.Matt says most people who first came in had no idea the new restaurant, Peche, had replaced the old one that used to be there as the couple tried to establish a customer base.Then, in March, like so many other businesses across the country, Peche had to close its indoor dining because of COVID.Employees were let go, vendors were cut, and the couple had to find out how to keep their new venture running.They applied for a PPP loan and were approved, but things were still a struggle until the duo started drawing from their past experiences as a way to help come up with solutions.At Matt’s previous restaurant, The Ranch, single meals were prepared for large groups, so instead of offering a wide range of options each night for takeout or delivery at Peche, the Chasseur’s decided to cook only one meal and make it absolutely delicious, as well as nutritious.“Your [body] is going to fight a very hard fight,” said Matt. “That was one thing that was very important to us: making sure that we were producing food that was not only delicious but helps boost your immune system.”Employees were also willing to help out in any capacity they could. At Alinea, Matt and Ashley were accustomed to a high-energy experience full of top-flight chefs who enacted strict parameters. It helped get the restaurant the acclaimed success it enjoys today, but Matt and Ashley also noticed it burnt-out employees, which is why they gave their employees at Peche more freedom to enjoy their lives outside the kitchen.In turn, the couple has seen loyalty from its crew.“In Chicago, you were in a kitchen with 25 other cooks and everyone had specific tasks,” said Matt. “You walk into this [current] environment and you’re like, ‘I don’t know how all this will get done,’ and then you look around and everyone is willing to jump in and dive in.”The moves have allowed Matt and Ashley to consolidate staff, cut costs, and try to give back in any way their restaurant can.“We’re going to take our best shot at this,” said Matt. “Everyone has invested so much in us so we’re making sure we’re investing in them as well.” 3117

The door was closed, and his Life Alert was in the other room on the charger. His phone was in the bathroom with him, but just out of reach on the counter.Lucky for Williams, Fluffy was in the room too. And whether or not he knew it, he’d been training Fluffy for this moment accidentally.“So I said ‘ring-a-ding Fluffy, you’re my only hope,’” Williams said, tearing up. “And he was. TAMPA, Fla. -- A woman who visited Hamburger Mary's in Tampa is suing the establishment for .5 million after she says she was injured by a drag queen's breast while at dinner with friends in 2015.Neldin Molina says she was with friends and family at the restaurant for dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday on May 30, 2015, according to the complaint. The suit says this was the first time Molina had ever visited the restaurant in Tampa. She claims when she entered the establishment, she didn't see any signs of any special events.She was eating her fish n' chips dinner at approximately 8:45 p.m. when she heard music and heard someone begin to speak and then the crowd cheered and clapped. She turned her chair around to see what was going on and saw a person dancing on the stage that was in the restaurant behind her to the left. She started watching and overheard another table say that the drag queen show was starting.At approximately 9:40 p.m., Molina turned around and saw performer Amanda D'Hod point at her and start to walk toward her table. Molina claims she immediately turned around to ignore the performance. A few minutes later, Molina felt someone touch her shoulders from behind her.According to the complaint, D'Hod walked in front of Molina and unexpectedly grabbed Molina's head and "wiggled her breast against the Plaintiff's face and head 8 times." D'Hod reportedly grabbed Molina's face and pushed it to the left and right before "violently pounding" it against D'Hod's chest "up to nine times." The complaint says Molina let a restaurant manager know that she was in "excruciating" pain and she was getting a headache and she filed a complaint. The manager told Molina he would notify and give the complaint to the owner who was not currently at the restaurant. Molina later went to the emergency room at Memorial Hospital of Tampa for "excruciating cervical pain and uncontrollable headaches."The manager called Molina weeks later and gave her Insurance information for her to follow up on the complaint. Molina is seeking .5 million for medical costs and expenses for the past, present and future, including the pain and suffering she physically and mentally endured. Tempe, Arizona police are investigating a deadly crash involving a self-driving Uber vehicle early Monday morning.  The Uber vehicle was reportedly headed northbound when a woman walking outside of the crosswalk was struck. The woman, identified as 49-year-old Elaine Herzberg, was taken to the hospital where she died from her injuries.Tempe Police says the vehicle was in autonomous mode at the time of the crash and a vehicle operator was also behind the wheel. No passengers were in the vehicle at the time. An Uber spokesperson said they are aware of the incident and are cooperating with authorities.They released the following statement: "Our hearts go out to the victim’s family. We are fully cooperating with local authorities in their investigation of this incident."Uber's CEO Dara Khosrowshahi also acknowledged the incident on Twitter: 906

The IRS sent many of its employees to work from home, resulting in delays in processing refunds. It was also difficult for many Americans to contact the IRS.Meanwhile, the IRS was processing millions of economic impact payments as most American adults were eligible to receive a ,200 payment from the federal government.The IRS advised tax payers on Tuesday to not rely on a tax refund coming by a certain date.“The IRS always cautions taxpayers not to rely on receiving a refund by a certain date, especially when making major purchases or paying bills,” the IRS said on Tuesday. “Some returns may require additional review and processing may take longer. For example, the IRS, along with its partners in the tax industry, continue to strengthen security reviews to help protect against identity theft and refund fraud. Just like last year, refunds for tax returns claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit [lnks.gd], cannot be issued before mid-February. This applies to the entire refund, even the portion not associated with these credits.”The IRS said that the fastest way for tax payers to obtain a refund is to file electronically and request payment via direct deposit.The IRS said that once a tax return is received, Americans can track their refund using the “Where’s My Refund” tool on its website.According to the IRS, the agency issued 122 million refunds for tax year 2019, totaling 2 billion.
