Social media company TikTok says they plan on hiring around 10,000 people in the U.S. over the next three years, according to multiple outlets. The announcement comes after lawmakers and Trump administration officials have questioned the company’s data collection methods and threatened to ban TikTok.TikTok currently employs about 1,400 people in the U.S., a huge increase already over the 500 employees they had on January 1, 2020, according to Axios."These are good-paying jobs that will help us continue to build a fun and safe experience and protect our community's privacy," a TikTok spokesperson said in a statement provided to CNN. The jobs will range from customer service, to content moderation to engineering.TikTok is owned by ByteDance, which is based in Beijing. TikTok doesn’t operate in China, however ByteDance operates a similar app in China called Douyin.Several lawmakers, including Chuck Schumer, Tom Cotton and Josh Hawley have publicly said they worry TikTok user data could find its way to the Chinese government. CNN reports TikTok data from U.S. users is stored in the U.S. with a backup in Singapore.The House voted this week to ban the TikTok app on government devices. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A toddler lovingly known as the "Baby Shark Girl" is making big strides.When WFTS first met Harper Mae Comparin, the then-2-year-old girl born with spina bifida was learning how to walk via a very unique method: the "Baby Shark" song.Her physical therapist at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital used the syncopation of the love-it-or-hate-it kids jingle to get Harper Mae to move. And it worked.Now, a year and a half later, her team of medical workers and family members continue to use inventive methods to help her deal with complications related to the birth defect in which the spinal cord fails to develop properly.She needed therapy to walk and to talk.Physical therapist assistant Nick Hamilton, who works at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, recently helped Harper Mae when she was scared of getting her leg cast sawed off."I'm a big kid, so I fit right in here," Hamilton said.So, he improvised. He made a cast for Harper Mae's Elsa doll. And it worked."Having her baby doll that she carries with her everywhere get a cast just like hers has helped her feel better about it," said mom Erica Comparin.Hamilton says a big part of Harper Mae's therapy is "improvisation." Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer did not display optimism on Thursday that all sides are close to a deal on a coronavirus stimulus package. His comments come as the Senate adjourned for the week without agreeing to a stimulus bill.Schumer said that negotiations at the White House on Thursday did not include Senate Republicans. Schumer claimed that Senate Republicans aren’t unified, and that McConnell would sink any stimulus plan that doesn’t include liability protection for businesses.“Pres.
