Police in Japan have arrested a 27-year-old man after he admitted to killing an unidentified person and dismembering the body.Japanese media reported parts of as many as nine bodies were found in the apartment of Takahiro Shiraishi in Zama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, southwest of Tokyo.Shiraishi has been arrested on the charge of abandoning a corpse, police told CNN, and investigation is still ongoing. The names, ages and genders of the alleged victims have not been revealed."I killed (a person) and dismembered the body and put them into a cooler box with cat litter in order to hide the evidence," Shiraishi said, according to police.A police officer would not comment on the eight other bodies reportedly found in Shiraishi's apartment.According to Japanese public broadcaster NHK, police searched Shiraishi's home as part of an investigation into the disappearance of a 23-year-old woman from Hachioji City, in the Tokyo suburbs.Investigators told NHK the woman was reported missing last Tuesday after she posted a message online saying she was looking for someone to join her in committing suicide. PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Whether you're a cat person or a dog person, this story is sure to warm your heart. It has a sad start, but a heartwarming end.The Sunshine Dog Rescue based out of Phoenix rescued a dog they have named "Georgia", an Australian Shephard Mix, found living at a gas station near the US-Mexico border, by Rocky Point.They quickly learned Georgia was pregnant. Sadly, none of Georgia's puppies survived. They were all born prematurely. Anita Osa, founder of Sunshine Dog Rescue, says Georgia was heartbroken after losing all of her babies."I've never had a mom dog lose a whole litter before. The best way I could describe it was she was frantic. It was so sad, she was looking for those babies. She tore up the toddler mattress we had her on, trying to find her babies," said Osa.Hoping to start Georgia down the path of healing, Osa put out a call for help on Facebook, looking for any animals that needed a lactating mother dog. What she ended up with was a trio of newly orphaned kittens, who also needed a mother.Osa said she initially wondered if a dog would accept kittens as her babies, but she was surprised to see the instant bond they formed."I introduced them to her gently. I first bought one out and let her sniff it, and she seemed to accept it, so I brought the others out. It's amazing to see how she instantly calmed down," said Osa."I think for the kittens, they have no idea that Georgia is a dog," she added.Georgia is even allowing her new kitten kids to nurse on her, although her milk production is low."They do nurse on her. She cleans them and everything but the bond is strong. It's really something to see, she protects those kittens just as if they were her babies," said Osa. 1726

PHOENIX, Arizona — Cell phone video of a boy repeatedly punching a girl in a sixth-grade class at Alfred F. Garcia Elementary School in Phoenix has gone viral, and the mother of the victim is upset with the school for not contacting her after the beating. The 12-year-old girl who was punched did not want to show her face or give her name, but says a lot of kids in school have seen the video. "It's gotten to the point where it's so viral, that they've made memes about it," said the victim.The girl used to be friends with the boy who is seen punching her, but she claims she made a joke months ago about his sister. She says she feels the attack was planned and some kids pulled out their phones to record it.  "I looked at the phone, and I knew it was coming," said the victim. "That's why I didn't do anything about it."The victim says she didn't tell her mom because she didn't want her to worry. "It was hard telling her because I don't like seeing my mom cry," said the victim. "It hurts."But her mom, Antoinette Contreras saw it days later.  "It just feels like all my fears and worst thoughts happened," said Contreras. "They came true."Contreras says she is shocked the school never contacted her. She finally got through to the principal on Thursday. "My question to her was, 'Why did you not contact me?'" said Contreras. "This happened on Monday. It is now Thursday."And while she wants the boy to face consequences, more importantly, Contreras wants him to get help. "I come from, what we call the ghetto, south Phoenix," said Contreras. "A lot of times these kids are rejected. They're the rejects of the world. The outcasts. The misfits. They're the ones that no one cares about. Because the parents don't care about them at home. And the staff doesn't care about them at school. And no one on the streets cares about these kids."Contreras says she plans to pull all of her children out of the Murphy Elementary School District. She will also bring the issue to district officials and police. There is a new law that goes into effect next school year that requires school officials to notify parents after violent incidents.  2211

(KGTV) -- A brush fire erupted in the north San Diego County community of Pauma Valley Tuesday afternoon, sending a plume of thick, white smoke into the atmosphere.The fire broke out on the 13800 block of Highway 76 near Pala Road northeast of Escondido around 2:50 p.m. According to Cal Fire, the flames have scorched at least 50 acres.Cal Fire sent an aircraft to help fight the fire. No structures were threatened in the fire. Winds in the area Tuesday could reach 14 miles per hour before winding down later this evening. The humidity, which is currently at 50 percent, should help firefighters fight the blaze. The fire is now 15 percent contained.  740
