Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, reassured children over the weekend that he personally visited Santa Claus at the North Pole, and vaccinated him.Appearing on a CNN Town Hall that educated children on the coronavirus, several children submitted questions on whether Santa would be able to visit them amid the pandemic.“I have to say I took care of that for you because I was worried you all would be upset,” Fauci told the children. “I took a trip up there to the North Pole. I went there and I vaccinated Santa Claus myself. I measured his level of immunity. He is good to go. He can come down the chimney.”Fauci added, “You have nothing to worry about.”Fauci did not indicate which vaccine he injected Santa with. There are currently two coronavirus vaccines that have garnered an emergency use authorization from the FDA. A vaccine produced by Pfizer, which studies indicate has a 95% efficacy rate, began being administered in the US last week. A second coronavirus vaccine, which is produced by Moderna and has a 94% efficacy rate, began being administered today.Other than Santa, front-line health care workers and those living and working in assisted care facilities were among the first to get the vaccine. Also, some leaders in Washington, including Vice President Mike Pence and President-elect Joe Biden, have also received the vaccine.Fauci was asked on Saturday by children when they can expect to be vaccinated. Currently, the two vaccines are not recommended for children.Fauci explained that in order to protect children, it is important for a vaccine to demonstrate efficacy among children before administering it.“The reason why you are not hearing about vaccinating children right now is because we want to wait a month or two,” Fauci said. “We are looking at January, we are going to start some trials in children. We’ll start with children who are a bit older and work our way down so that hopefully within a few months, we’ll be able to tell children, when I know we’ll be able to say, that the vaccine is ‘safe and effective in you.’” 2122

Did a 91-year-old woman really get arrested for eating fried chicken with a fork?Yes, but it was a prank. The law does exist though. In 1961, Gainesville, Georgia passed a measure making it illegal to eat fried chicken with anything other than your hands. It was a publicity stunt to promote the city as the “poultry capital of the world.” 344

Edwin Medina embodies what the Christmas spirit is all about. He just received 0, but this college student is not buying Christmas gifts for his family or saving for his spring break trip. He is helping his mother.“She doesn’t have to decide if she is going to put food or a roof over our head for December,” Edwin Medina said. “We can enjoy the holidays.”Medina’s mother was infected with COVID-19 in April and was out of a job for about a month.“The debt piled up quickly, and ,400 became ,000 in debt,” said Medina.Edwin was one of the hundreds of college students in the United States who received the emergency grant from the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE).The recipients were all impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. 752

EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) — A beloved visitor center and community "treasure" designed by a famed artist is routinely being turned into a trashed party pad.The small building, dubbed the Hubbell Kiosk, is located in the Crestridge Ecological Reserve. Designed by famed artist and architect James Hubbell, the partial build was destroyed by the Cedar Fire in 2003. The wood, clay and straw-filled project was rebuilt several years later. Then last month, Lands Manager Kyle Smith discovered a smashed skylight and a mess inside."Vomit, beer bottles, drug paraphernalia. It looked like a war zone went off," said Smith. The scene they left behind, including wrecked displays and broken chairs, has become a familiar one.Video surveillance has captured the party goers in five break-ins since early August. Some of the faces appear to be repeat revelers. The break-ins leads to thousands of dollars in repairs and extra security precautions. Endangered Habitats Conservancy, the non-profit that oversees the site, hopes someone will recognize the photos of the vandals. Smith has a message for the party-goers."You're not welcome here. Go party somewhere else," said Smith. If you have any information, you're asked to call the Alpine Sheriff's Station at 619-659-2600. 1272
